   Great menu at a nice price. We had a 4 course tasting menu of small plates, which meant we were able to sample 6 different tapas and we both chose the flan for desert.

   Food and drink were disappointing. And yes, we know what to expect with tapas dining. Server said they were frequently out of one of their most popular items, the chicken croquetta was really wet - more béchamel than anything else, and proportion of egg to potato in the tortilla seemed way off - more like an omelette with a few chunks of potato in it. House special frozen sangria was also a miss, no rich fruity-ness at all. That being said - the table next to us had a big paella, which looked very good.

   Had the Jose experience. It’s not inexpensive, but it is excellent. Service was A+. Noisy, but fun.

   I give 4 stars because it’s inconsistent. I’m Spaniard and some food at Jaleo is amazing, some really good, and some just so so. Some items are too expensive and some pretty OK. I must say that the Flamenco dancers weren’t actual flamenco dancers, neither the singer was a Flamenco singer. The violinist was good actually. They gave us the first tapas really quick, and then we waited 30 minutes for the second ones, so the service is also inconsistent. The tortilla de patatas is really good, as well as the jam croquetas. The jamón serrano is also good. And pan con tomate is amazing. It was my second time and probably not my last one since I like most food there. I just wish they improve a little bit the service as well as the overall pace. But I would recommend it.

   We had the tasting menu with wine pairings. The food and the wine were out-of-this-world fantastic, and make this a five star review all on its own. Service was a bit disorganized, with the various parts of each course sometimes showing up well apart, or the wine for the course being very late. It is a loud and energetic place, so maybe not ideal for a romantic night, but definitely a lot of fun and well worth the price.

   Very slow service for an 8:15 reservation. We appreciated the discount in view of the significant delay on the paella. Also, it was challenging to hear the waiter and other guests.

    In addition to the experience and the wonderful food, we love the sangria. We ordered 2 pitchers of sangria. We received 2 different tapas BEFORE being told that this type of sangria was unavailable. We received a 3rd tapa and a paella before getting our sangria. My father-in-law was put off by this wait and let our waitress know about it. Again, the food was wonderful, but the service was ‘different’ compared to our previous visits. The other odd thing was the waitress did not bring our bill. Someone else did. I don’t remember this being the case in the past. Even though the service wasn’t like other visits, we still would have appreciated the ‘thank you for coming’ from her. Thank you.
