   I am really disappointed with our visit to JOEY Eaton Centre. First, when we arrived we were seated downstairs in a noisy area by the bar even though my reservation said "Upper Lounge" Seating person + waitress had no idea and seemed a little clueless, but the GM came over and apologized and offered us a table upstairs, which we took (because that is what we came for). Once we got upstairs, we were offered two small samples of Prosecco, but I do not drink alcohol so I'm a little bothered about why JOEY's would naturally assume that with patrons, but I appreciate the kind gesture. When our drink order was taken, my guest was brought the wrong glass of wine (Pinot Grigio instead of Pinot Noir), and I did not get my limes with my ginger beer which I asked for, and they were never brought even during the course of our visit. Then over 20 minutes later, our order was finally taken. Yam fries (app) came to the table - no napkins, side plates, cutlery, nothing. Which is honestly ironic and very embarrassing on JOEY's end because front house staff, including the manager, were polishing cutlery at the time in the corner. So when our Yam fries were done, still without the above, and our mains were brought out, I commented about no napkins/cutlery/plates for Yam fries and received a passive apology. No check in or follow up from the manager either. I want to know why? Food was great, we ordered desert. But the service was so below par - at one point there were 4 staff upstairs, including the manager, just standing around talking, eating - when tables needed to be cleared, we were not tended to as much as we would have liked, and given the JOEY brand and elite status that is acknowledged with the company - this was certainly not something observed during our visit. Very disappointed.

   Seated on time, food was excellent but our server was very short with the table and a bit demanding. No warm and fuzzy feeling

   We were given a two-hour window when being seated for our reservation. Between the moment we sat down and when we received our food was over an hour. Service was inattentive and slow. The background music was too loud to carry on a conversation across the table. And the water in the bathroom was cold. We opted not to order dessert because they came back with the dessert menu and didn’t return for so long we just wanted to get out. Sadly, have been there for lunch several times and quite enjoy the lunch atmosphere and service. The food is always fantastic.

    The staff was attentive and friendly. The food selection was very good. Our meals were tasty. The wine selection by the glass had a good variety. Had a rose, chardonnay and cabinet sauvignon to complement the different portions of our meals. The place was packed. I had asked for a window seat in our reservation and they didn't disappoint. This was my first time at a Joey's restaurant. I look forward to trying others.
