Situated on the rooftop of the iconic King & Godfree building in the heart of Lygon Street’s Little Italy, Johnny’s Green Room is a Tuscan-inspired terrace with dazzling city skyline views and an enthusiastic appreciation for la dolce vita.

Conceived by award-winning designer Dion Hall, Johnny’s evokes the good times of an Italian summer with a semi-retractable roof enabling those summertime vibes to be enjoyed year-round. We have acclaimed chef Karen Martini on board as our Culinary Director, her relaxed menu of Italian-style sharing dishes beautifully complemented by Melbourne bar maestro Matt Bax’s delicious program of Italian-accented cocktails and wine and a rolling roster of the finest DJs in the land.

Named after the classic Carlton nightspot that in the 70s and 80s attracted the bohemian and the notorious like moths to a neon-lit flame, Johnny’s has been reimagined for a whole new generation of Carlton habitués.

We loved the ambience, food was delicious and very authentic, and we cannot fault the service. We would definitely go back again.

Fabulous. Fabulous. Fabulous! Stylish decor, food and quality all the way. A wonderful experience. Oh and ps, the Marguerita cocktail is super delish and the city views … ahhh

lovely place with great view quite a few mistakes were made by staff with orders, tables etc. especially considering it was a monday night. food was good but limited cocktail and main food options and pricey.

Fabulous environment, great outlook, food and cocktails lovely. Only let down was service and toilets! Staff were pleasant but did not clear tables, deliver cutlery and servietttes without asking. Toilet were offensive smelling. Overall it is a great venue customer service would make it brilliant!

Enjoyed a pre dinner drink here on a sunny evening. The vibes and ambience were great, just a little disappointing that there are no classic beer options such as Carlton, Melbourne, or VB - this limited our choices. Also thought some prices were quite high for a standard drink. Otherwise was fun and electric.
