Chef Joseph Wrede is a Food & Wine Best New Chef, the winner of several AAA Four Diamond Awards, several DiRoNA Awards and has received both Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast distinctions. Joseph’s Culinary Pub is a creation of Chef Wrede and his creative and business partners. This is the third incarnation of Wrede’s original Joseph’s Table, conceived in Taos, New Mexico, not quite 20 years ago, for which he is well known and loved within the region and beyond. Joseph’s Culinary Pub is designed to be a platform for Chef Wrede’s unique and uncompromising vision on traditional and contemporary cuisine, both regional and international. Regarding the restaurant as a process much like theater, Wrede envisions the experience of dining in his restaurant as an interactive play between the pub and the public, with his sights aimed at rivaling high art.

Well staffed with very pleasant and professional FOH people. Food was excellent, my group of for split appetizers and we each had a different entree, no one was disappointed. Nice wine and cocktail selections.

My wife and I celebrated my birthday at Joseph's. When we arrived, they wished me a happy birthday and after we were seated, brought us two partial flutes of champagne to toast. The food was delicious, we shared the polenta and chicken liver mousse, both were full of flavor. I had the fish special, yellowfish served over a carrot puree and rice. Just fantastic. We ended with two of their deserts. It was a meal to remember.

I am kicking myself for not going to Joseph's sooner. Back in the day I went to his restaurant in Taos, and now I will become a regular when I am in Santa Fe. The food was innovative and delicious. Our server who might have been named Kira (or something close to that) was one of the best waiters I have ever had. It was an amazing evening out top to bottom and not outrageously or gratuitously expensive. I am a new (old) fan of what Joseph is doing in the world.

The brick chicken was surely not crispy and flavorful. Seemed like they steamed the chicken and placed it on some dull rice. The mole I would give a C+. My mistake was not returning it.

Joseph’s never disappoints! We love the unusual menu, the smaller less expensive plates, as well as the larger entrees. With cocktails and/or wine, it makes for an expensive evening but always feels worth it. We always go very early before the noise level rises….

We've been a number of times over the years. Always a great, memorable experience. Last night simply wasn't the food experience we anticipated. Restaurant is lovely. Staff very welcoming. Wine selection is notable and excellent. It was just food wasn't delicious. Everyone got something different and almost no one loved their food which is a shame and atypical. I'm only writing because it is a place that has provided us wonderful memories since it was in Taos. We've had romantic dinners and wonderful family moments with kids or parents. Last night the restaurant was perfect. Just something missing. That's why we mention it in the hope that this is just a blip. tks
