"Judges restaurant and cocktail bar, formerly known as The Sun, is situated in the beautiful village of Northaw on the village green. This landmark Grade II listed building has, over many long months, been lovingly restored to its rightful glory. With a modern eclectic European and British menu, Carlos believes in sourcing local produce from artisan suppliers, where the provenance and quality of the foods are fully traceable. Whether you’re enjoying a glass of something sparkling under one of our chandeliers or having a scrumptious afternoon tea by the log fire, our bar and restaurant mix period features with modern day elegance, creating a memorable dining experience. Our cocktail bar and lounge areas are the perfect space for just popping by for an espresso martini or a light bite. Perfect for a relaxed evening drink with friends and informal eating from our brasserie style menu.

    This was a dinner for two and a late reservation. We asked for a private table and we did get a table in a small room where there were only two other tables. Unfortunately, it was right next to a party so laughter and music were loud in the next room with no door. Other than that, service was attentive and fast. Our chateau briand was succulent.

    We was a table of 12 and noting was too much. All staff were brilliant and even good with our young children. It was a lovely evening and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back again.

    Food was perfect and so were the staff. Magician was great, had a fun evening. Thank you to Carlos and his team for looking after us.

    Another lovely Sunday lunch with the Ladies. Excellent choice of food though we all opted for a roast of one sort or another. Attractive cosy decor. Attentive but unobtrusive service . Another delightful meal at this outstanding venue

    We had been recommended to Judges by a number of friends and it did not disappoint. We were warmly greeted on arrival (our first visit) and had excellent service and good quality food. The menu is extensive and my vegan brother in law had no issues. Excellent throughout - we look forward to returning soon

    I really can't fault our lunch at Judge's the other day. Just a post-Christmas get-together for the 4 of us but the food was delicious and very reasonable.

    Steaks were overdone (we ordered medium and they were well done) and had to be sent back which meant we didn’t all eat at the same time. Also final bill included an item that we didn’t receive. We received a reduction to the bill in recognition of the food being incorrect but that didn’t change the fact that the service was not up to scratch and two of us had finished our main course by the time the other two received theirs. Disappointing.
