   This has been a solid establishment for years but it’s drifting away from what once was fine dinning. Service was bleak we had to serve our wine , water was never topped off, and 2 courses came at the same time . Also main course was served while my date was in bathroom- obviously getting cold. The short rib - main dish was very overdone tasted like cardboard with sauce. This is not the first time we experienced this level of disappointment. The attention to details in the menu and ingredients it’s long gone I think it’s time to take a long break.

   This was one of the best meals we have ever had! The food and presentation was outstanding! Kudos to Chef Kinsella for his unique preparation of classic dishes!

   The taste of food is alright, but value wise? Definitely not. 160$ for 4 course, I taste a lot of sand in the oysters. I am not a picky person, but for this price, I expect something better. The short rib was good, very creamy sauce. The desert Black Forest cake was pretty creative, but tasted average. Just a cake. If the whole meal is around 100$ I’d say it’s worth it. But 160$/person (no beverages or alcohol ordered) it’s kinda overpriced.

   Food was pricy but delicious and unique. Went early and had to wait for our reservation even though it was almost empty. Food came out quickly but our waiter didn’t come over for 40-45 minutes. Wanted more wine and dessert but waited too long so got dessert somewhere else. The rest of the staff was excellent.

   My First time eating here and my over all experience was amazing. My first thought was “wow the plates are very small I’m not going to get full” however, as the server was bringing out the food the portion got bigger. The taste of each food was delicious and crafted to perfection. My taste buds and stomach were very happy. Definitely coming back.

    I had a phenomenal experience at Juniper and Ivy. I made a reservation for my wife’s birthday and once I got there they had valet service for 15$ which for Downtown SD isn’t bad at all. Upon arriving we waited at a very nice, comfortable lounge area by the bar while our table got ready. Once we were seated the server Andrew gave us greeted us phenomenally, remembered the request I made upon making the reservation and fulfilled it expertly. I had initially checked the restaurant’s menu online to have what I wanted to order planned and my only critique is that there was a good amount of menu items in the website that either weren’t available or had different prices however I still rated them 5 stars because all the issues I had related to the website were smoothly resolved by both the manager and the server which easily removed all potential problems both regarding price and the availability of menu items. The food was just as good as the service and I would highly recommend anyone visiting San Diego or looking for a quality dining experience. The price is on the high side but I refuse to call it expensive because the amount you pay is on par with the experience you receive and I will absolutely be dining there again in the future. In conclusion 10/10 to Juniper and Ivy and a special shoutout to the server Andrew and to Whatever manager was on the floor the night of 20Dec2024.
