Justine is a brasserie in New Orleans’ historic French Quarter. Opened in 2019 by husband-wife team Justin & Mia Devillier of La Petite Grocery, Justine combines the sophistication of Parisian brasseries with the playfulness of the South’s most lively district. Featuring dishes like Mussels, Escargot & Steak Frites, the menu honors the technique and simplicity of French classics, while evoking the senses with exciting, grand presentation. Other seafood and steak favorites include Shrimp & Grits, Pan Roasted Red Snapper, Shrimp Remoulade, NY Strip & Hanger Steak. True to the heart of French brasserie culture, the bustling, multi-roomed restaurant offers a versatile space to be enjoyed by all, whether it’s for a weekday lunch, afternoon glass of wine or celebratory dinner. The café side opens to the Chartres Street sidewalk, emulating a quintessential Parisian-street experience with daytime fare.                                               Salad Maison was the best thing I had here this visit. French onion soup was decent. Could be richer in flavor. Bouillabaisse was edible. Salty broth. Not how I am used to in preparation. Would have expected a thicker piece of fish, not just pieces over cooked in the piping hot broth. The focaccia was topped with some sort of jalapeño cheddar maybe, a spicy cheese sauce, that did not pair with the bouillabaisse for dipping or eating. The Nutella cake was pre sliced and dried out. I couldn’t eat it. Overall I wouldn’t order anything again.

                                              The food was good but the service was SO slow. It took over an hour to get our entrees and during that wait we were never given updates, or asked if we wanted another round of drinks or appetizer or anything. When we finally did get our entrees, mine was served and my partner’s wasn’t. That was another 10 minute wait. We skipped dessert because we had been there for almost 2 hours by then and didn’t want to have to wait for anything else.

                                              This was our first time dining at Justine, and we loved it! The food (mussels and frites, little gems salad, pan-roasted redfish, and pineapple upside down cake) was FABULOUS. Our server Angelo was very personable and knowledgeable. A 10 out of 10 experience.
