    A one-of-a-kind night where the heart of Greek tradition pulses with music, food, and drink. Be immersed in the Rebetika sound – the raw, emotional, and soulful music of urban Greece, often referred to as Greek blues – performed live by a talented local group of musicians. To accompany, a selection of meze including pickled octopus, marinated peppers and smoky pastourma. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Greek night without ouzo, matched to each meze course. Each guest will also receive a bottle of premium ouzo, sourced from family-owned distilleries across Greece. An educational, sensory journey through Greece’s past and present.

                                                      We felt welcomed and the waitstaff were very friendly. We had a nice night but for a menu that is not extensive I expected better flavours. The food is a neighbourhood family restaurant food with higher prices and an expensive wine list. There were hundreds and hundreds of wines with a handful under $100 per bottle. The food styling didn’t match the wine prices. The first course was out in 5 minutes after we ordered, which was too quick as we wanted to have a drink and chat. We held the main course back and our fish order was forgotten when the rest was served. We asked and it hadn’t been ordered. Dessert was good. We shared baclava and sesame ice cream. It was hard to talk with 6 people due to the overall volume in the restaurant. We had high expectations for a Greek restaurant in Melbourne and while it was nice it didn’t reach the highs for us.

                                                      Great ambience and service and the starters were delicious. Main meals could have more variety but overall enjoyed the experience especially pre dinner drinks at Siglo rooftop.

                                                      This is a lovely venue. Great food and service. Greek food and music were great. It would be nice if the tables were a bit bigger. It is a bit too expensive however

                                                      Food was high quality and great flavours Not your typical Greek restaurant though trying to be a bit too fancy. There are more authentic Greek restaurants in a better price point to choose from in Melbourne.

                                                      Kafenion was the perfect choice for my PhD Graduation dinner. The staff were all very obliging, energetic and attentive to all our requests. Food was delicious with very generous servings. The candlelight ambiance and background music made for a relaxed mood. We all had a fabulous time and will be visiting again.

                                                      A sadly disappointing experience. Some inattentive staff - collecting plates without asking if we had finished, wine delivered very late to the table. The Greek Salad poor. With a table squeezed under the stairs between tables, we felt uncomfortable.

                                                      Having been on two previous occasions I was looking forward to introducing Kafeneion to my friends. I know it is December & everywhere is busy which is great however the lack of acoustics made our experience quite exhausting having to talk over the noise & hear each other. Staff were friendly but it did feel like they were pushed so were struggling to provide their usual personalised service.

                                                      Overall a fantastic dining experience. Great food, every dish we had was delicious and the service was a great blend of professional and friendly. I am already planning my next visit.
