After 18 years of service at Shokudo Japanese Restaurant and Bar on Kapiolani boulevard, we are excited to announce the introduction of Kaimuki Shokudo on 11th avenue. You can expect the same Shokudo essence and hospitality paired with a new exciting concept featuring fresh soba along with other delicious Japanese specialties. we had 5:00p reservations for a party of four but got there a little early. the restaurant was pretty empty even though reservation system said they were booked til 7:45p, so maybe room for alot of walk ins? for the most part, all of our food came quickly and we were about done in 30 min. we ordered french fries w/chiso, scallops in butter garlic and fried ika off the happy hour menu (that ends at 5:00p). the other items ordered were the soba, spicy ahi don & hamachi don (both full portions) and mentai mochi cheese rolls. everything was delicious and perfectly proportioned. my fave is the hamachi don which has about 6 thick pieces on sushi rice. service was great and we liked that the food came out very fast. yummy and we’ll definitely go back!

There’s a 2 hour dining limit. We weren’t told until enjoying our dessert midway. The sudden news forced us to finish quickly and leave.

We had the lunch special of a soba and small don which was a fair amount of food for the price. The goboten soba hot and spicy ahi Don and the curry Don and cold soba with shiso, takuan, etc. Both sets were tasty! I have never been a fan of soba, but their soba was good! You could tell it's handmade with a nice texture, and the hot soba broth was flavorful. Even the cold soba was a great mix of flavors! If you're looking to eat soba, I would recommend trying Shokudo.

100/10!! So delishhh each dish was amazing, everything came out super fast, & service was great. Definitely coming back soon!

The food was exellent and we will return for sure. It will probably be our new "go to" spot for us and when we have guests to take out.

A very eclectic group of patrons. Families students friends and datenighters. Very welcoming atmosphere. Excellent attentive friendly service made for a lovely comfortable evening.
