Kalapawai Cafe & Deli offers residents and visitors to Kailua a friendly place grab anything from a morning cup of coffee, a delicious deli sandwich or pizza to an award winning full service dinner that includes burgers, locally caught seafood and the freshest salads. Good food and service - we always go there when we are Kailua. Parking in their lot is limited but there are many spots on the street and I believe the meters do not run in the evenings. The restaurant is located on a street corner, so you will hear traffic if you sit outside - but it is Hawaii so we always sit outside! Mahalo and Aloha!

Love this restaurant! They easily accommodated my family with a small child and were very nice when he needed to know “where his food was”. Great staff!

It’s always a pleasure to dine at Kalapawai. The food is excellent and the menu is always refreshingly different every time we go.

Consistently great food - well prepared, fresh ingredients, very imaginative. Variety of the pu-pu, salad and main menu was impressive. Overall, our favorite restaurant on the Windward side.

The prices are high for a casual restaurant. The food is good but some dishes arrived cold or room temperature. Service was very good.

Been going to Kalapawai for many years. It has maintained its consistent good quality over the years in spite of the high employee turnover. Seems fewer and fewer times we go do we run into staff that remembers us. Was a nice quality but cannot expect young people to not move on to better opportunities despite our outrageously high tips to keep then there.
