   Chef Massad has created the most perfect dining experience. Extraordinarily delicious food and a team that functions in beautiful harmony. I made my next reservation before leaving the restaurant. And that probably says it all!

   I think Kampai is an excellent restaurant. I made the reservation through OpenTable, but it is not stated that the rooftop has a different menu from the restaurant. It is an izakaya. I was quite disappointed because I wanted to go to the restaurant, and this detail is not clear in the app reservation. Therefore, I suggest anyone making a reservation to be aware of this.

   Food is incredible. Service is excellent. Staff is knowledgeable It is expensive, but as a once in a while treat, it is worth it!

   When booking, it was not clear that the upstairs bar is essentially a separate restaurant. Kampai was highly recommended to us and when i chose to sit upstairs, I didn't realize we only be able to order off a limited menu and not have access to the main/downstairs menu. That was certaint disappointing. The food we had upstairs was great but again, there were items on the main menu we were excited about prior to dining that we could not order upstairs. This should be made clearer when booking.

    Expected a little more based off the reviews. The salmon sashimi had a plastic taste to it which was off putting. The sashimi shouldn’t really be called sashimi, it’s carpaccio. They slice the fish thin, really really thin like maybe four mm max. The result is for a 25 dollar sashimi plate you’re getting about one ounce of fish. Sashimi should be 7-10mm in thickness, being so thin you don’t get the actual mouth feel of the texture of the fish and it’s harder to taste it. I would not repeat.
