Welcome to Kapa Hale!

Kapa Hale has a modern influence on Hawai'i Regional Cuisine. We promote local products and combine them with familiar ethnic influences that showcase a cuisine that can only be found in today's Hawai'i.

We can help to celebrate life's special events -- whether it's a large party or an intimate prix-fixe menu. We can accommodate different styles of events -- cocktail reception, sit-down family style menus, etc. Chef Keaka Lee was recently recognized as a James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef in the Northwest and Pacific. And finalist for the Vegetarian category for the local Hale 'Aina Awards by Honolulu Magazine.

We're located next to Olive Tree Cafe, outside of Kahala Mall. We have a small, private parking lot.

    Made a reservation for inside and when I got there I was told they were busy and may not he able to accommodate my reservation. Food was a little salty and mustard seeds were over used in the dishes.

    Food was very good, however the wait was over 45 minutes to receive our entree. The “bread” basket only was delivered after inquiring w/the server. A bit noisey from a large group talking & 2 couple of women behind us w/1 woman taking sooo loud & inconsiderate of other guests dining.

    We were so disappointed with our experience at Kapa Hale. Based on the good reviews and the other outstanding restaurant experiences we had while staying in Kahala, we were not expecting a bad experience. Unfortunately, we found the following: - the service was extremely slow, we were not offered water or had drink orders taken until we had already been seated for 25 mins - the bathrooms were not clean and had an 'ick' factor - the server was slovenly: sweaty, careless with putting food down (spilled salad dressing all over the table and then carelessly cleaned it up) - the food did not meet expectations at all (it was salty, overly saucy or too much dressing, the taste of most dishes just was plain not good) - 1 out of 4 of us had stomach issues the next day - it was our most expensive meal while in Oahu and was the least enjoyable The place was packed so they must be doing something right, but we just didn't see it.

    Food was great, we enjoyed the shroom sandwich with the egg- yummy and great flavor profile. Coffee was spot on, altogether it was a very nice lunch

    Went for the 2024 restaurant week special. The food was very good. And $33 for 3 courses excellent value.

    Food very tasty, quick service, good location, staff very friendly, love happy hour menus, and will try some drinks next time.

    We had a terrible experience at Kapa Hale. The service is very slow, and they are under staffed. It took 30 minutes to get our bottle of wine. Our dinner was finally served as after most diners had left. It took over 2 hours to get to our table, meanwhile everyone around us was being served. The roast chicken was tough. The waiter and the manager apologized, but gave no real reason for the lack of service. They did bring us a complimentary appetizer but we did not want to fill up on that. In the end, we lost our appetites all together, as the momentum of a dinner out was lost. It was so disappointing! The ambiance is also extremely loud so conversing with your dinner partner is tough. In the end, they should have comped our dinner, but they did not.

    Aloha David (Kawika) and Sarah Goodale, We understand and agree that your experience with us was very negative. We unfortunately were extra understaffed, but still tried to push through and provide the best experience we could. We would also like to recognize that your total dining time with us was 2 hours and 3 minutes -- we recognize that the entrees were severely delayed and we tried our best to communicate that to the table. When we asked if there's anything we could do for you at that point, there was no hesitation of asking for two complimentary wine glasses. Which we gave to you in addition to the appetizer. The service we provided is not to our standard, but we still tried our best to keep you informed. We will take this as a learning experience as a team.

    All five of our appetizers were excellent in taste as each had unique tastes and textures. We didn't need to order a main entree because we enjoyed an Izakaya type meal that was not Japanese but local in flavor. Liquor list was adequate but it would have been good to have more variety of wine by the glass and beer selection.
