   Love Kapa Hale! Chef is always trying new things and always provides a wide selection of specials. We had the fish dip (this night it was Marlin). I loved it while my husband (who doesn’t like fish) gave it mixed reviews. The Naan bread appetizer was innovative, unusual and tatsty. Plenty of burger dishes for four people to share with the addition of another order of naan bread as recommended by our server. Chef was flexible and allowed us to order the entree off the prix fixe Winter Special tasting menu. It’s great when I can make a satisfying meal off of the starters/appetizer/sides menu. I had the Tempura Eggplant and the special Brussels Sprouts with pickled cranberries for my entree. Two of us had the chicken - perfectly toasted, succulent pieces of chicken with special potatoes. Both of the orders were so generous that doggy bags were required. Desserts included a gingerbread crème brûlée with a tiny little gingerbread man and pickled cranberries as a garnish. My friend ordered the guru guru with ice cream. The flavor the night we were there was strawberry. This was a smaller serving than we expected. I had the Haupia sorbet that came generously covered with toasted coconut flakes. Wine bottle prices are reasonable. Wine but the glass pours are exactly the number of ounces you order. Cocktails are full of fun names. There were a variety of Old Fashioneds. The meal menus are quite different - brunch, happy hour and dinner/lunch. We’ll be back to try more things on the menu.

   Wonderful food and service! Highly recommend! Also - please keep the oxtail pho as a regular menu item! It was amazing!

   The winter menu was outstanding! The starter assortment included my favorite tomato soup; the salmon was perfectly prepared, and the desserts were a perfect way to end the evening. I opted for the wine pairing, which paired well with all courses. Chef Keaka and staff continue to impress!

   Because of its one of a kind dishes brilliantly conceived and skillfully prepared, the genuine warmth and hospitality of the owners and staff, all contributing to its allure as a preferred destination, we enjoyed Kapa Hale today as always and will always make it a top choice of special places at which to dine.

   As always the food, service, and ambiance were great! We enjoy Kapa Hale for the variety of well-prepared, delicious small plates. 6-8 small plates should are perfect for two people, and offer a nice variety for your meal. 😀

   With Christmas only a week away, more and more people are coming out to dine---which is good for the economy. For the first time, I ordered Kapa Hale's Koji Aged Steak, which is a New York Striploin in a black bean peppercorn sauce, with grilled Ho Farms long beans and pickled mustard. I found out that I don't care for the black bean peppercorn sauce. The steak was down midium-rare as ordered and was good, but to enjoy it, I had to scrape off the sauce---it was too strong for me. The long beans were over a foot long---no exaggeration and were hard to cut. For a stir-fried vegetable, they were a bit overcooked. Hubby, on the other hand, loved the "I Love You A Laksa Rissoto," a dish frequently ordered by both of us. The grilled octopus starter called "Let's Tako 'Bout It," was presented very well, and my husband's only complaint was that the tentacle was too slender and short. Everything we've ever ordered at Kapa Hale was between a to 5 rating (our of 5 stars). We will be back for their special Christmas Eve dinner.

   Great food, ambience and great service! Chef personally brings your entrees to your table and talks to you for a bit. Highly recommend!

    Everything was tasty and the arancini was extra special! Our waiter was patient and explained everything. Service is friendly too!
