   Wow. Probably one of the best meals I’ve had in Denver. Can’t believe I was sleeping on this place until now. We had the cucumber salad, the kung pow karaage chicken and the kimchi udon and the chicken bao buns. The kung pow karaage chicken was some of the juiciest best chicken I’ve ever had. The real show stopper was the kimchi udon though, was so creamy with the perfect amount of spice and really, really satisfying. Our server, Day, was great, and it was an extra lovely bonus that they have Japanese toilets that have warmers and bidets! Even using the bathroom at this restaurant is a 5 star experience. We went on Jan 1st as well which could have been busy and chaotic but the service was great and things came out pretty perfectly timed. Portions are also big! We got 4 items as a party of 2 and had to take a lot home as leftovers.

   Food was impeccable, service was amazing! I read comments about feeling rushed & was worried. But we went on NYE & never felt rushed or anything! Our server was attentive & friendly. I will be back!

   Food was amazing! My partner and I’s server never checked on us once and we sat with empty drinks for 30 minutes waiting to order another drink. Food came out quickly and back of the house brought and took our plates quickly. Tables around us got checked on multiple times. Once we were finished with all our food we still just sat there for a bit waiting to be asked if we were ready for our check. We understand everyone has an off night but everyone around else seemed to get just fine service and they did not seem short staffed.

   The food was good but not good enough to get us to return after the service we experienced. It took almost 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our existence. Once they finally did, it turned into a race of seeing how quickly they could turn our table. Our server dropped the check before we were finished with dessert and let us know that anything over the 20% MANDATORY SERVICE CHARGE would go directly to her.

   Food reminded me very much of the previous Domo restaurant. Northern Japanese warm earthy comfort food. The curry potatoes were delicious and the pork and garlic ramen 🍜 was the best ramen I’ve ever had. We had a pot of the matcha tea which brought everything together. Great ambience and a fun place for a date. Enjoy!

    I have been here twice in the past month. Kawa Ni serves some of the best Asian food in Denver with exceptional service and unique, and delicious drinks. The butternut squash, Szechuan dumplings and pork belly ramen were highlights in a very good meal. Highly recommended!
