Everything was delicious. The Beef Curry Cheese Bibimbap was amazing. The eggplant and tofu dish was really good too. We loved the Tokyo Spicy Fries and the sushi. My Umi Mojito was refreshing and my friend loved her Lychee Mojito. It was really loud because a company was having a staff party but it's a popular place. So, we understand.

A bit disappointing as they ran out of whiskey and were not really willing to make any drinks off menu.

Sat down and ordered in the last ten minutes of happy hour. The yuzu drink and chicken wings were definitely highlights.

Please please pls bring back absolute favourite dishes like the udon carbonara, ikipiri and vindara (crispy miso cod). They are why I like to go back time and again the last 10+ yrs. Oh also, the front room is cold, could use more heating. Huge thx!

Good service. The back room has Japanese style tables on the floor and we take off our shoes and it was nice. The sashimi was nice and fresh

Kinka was a very decent choice for upper scale sushi, although it was a tad noisy and the udon was not overly exceptional.

Our server made us feel as if we were being a bother to them when asking for simple things such as more than 1 menu for a group of 5. Spicy sauce was asked for and were told “no” abruptly. Food options very limited. Food items come out in a weird range of timing. How does sushi and fried chicken come out so quick and French fries takes about 12 more minutes. I’ve been in hospitality for over 15 years I’d never go back or would recommend this place.

Really beautiful place. I’d recommend the floor sitting rather than the table sitting as it gets really crowded and packed. Then again it could be because I went on a Friday night. But overall the food was amazing, the vibe and ambiance was amazing and inexpensive too. Parking was difficult though as it was downtown

I haven’t been to Kinka in awhile and was disappointed this time. The staff no longer greet you with a loud « irrashaimase ! » nor do they sing their old happy birthday song nor do they all yell « arigatou gozaimasu » when you leave. I was informed by our server that the restaurant no longer employs Japanese people. The menu is not as extensive (where is gomae?) and no longer has a Japanese flair with lots of pictures and fun text. The food was excellent though! Our server was great at the beginning and then, disappeared. It was difficult to get our bill. All in all, it was a disappointing experience. That said, I will surely go back due to the fun atmosphere. I would consider hiring back Japanese people as they are excellent workers and add an authentic flair, fun, and energy to what is supposed to be an izakaya!
