It was our first time experiencing a 7-course tasting menu, and we were very excited about it.
Seated in a much quieter corner facing the bar, with a comfortable banquet, we decided to go for some non-alcoholic cocktails to accompany our tasting menu and stay at a reasonable cost. The service was correct, polite, and positive, and high-end but not exceptional.
The food was good to very good, with many exciting flavours, colours and textures. As expected with a tasting menu, it was not in large quantities, but as the dinner spans 2h-2h15 you still finish with a feeling of satiation. We paid extra to add black truffles to one of the courses, but I wouldn't say it was worth it.
The decoration is very relaxing and pleasant, and the view from the balcony is worth exploring despite December's cold.
We spent £388 (2* 7 courses tasting menu at £130 pp, 2* 5g black truffles, 2* non-alcoholic cocktails, water and service charge). Overall, I found the cost too high for the quality/experience provided, considering I was hungry an hour after I left the restaurant (I'm not a big eater). I won't reiterate this experience (in this place or any other), considering that I can have a (perceived) similar level of food quality in larger quantities with a relatively equal level of service for half this price.
