Tucked into the upper story of a delightfully faded building in Chinatown, Kissa Tanto invites you into the little jewel that is the House of Plenty. First we will eat! Such supreme satisfaction we take from the delicate flavours of Japan and the warmth of ltalian cooking and feel it’s right to bring these culinary forces together to do a little dance. Why not? Soul mates are they not with their mutual love of noodles, rice, and proteins in their pure, delicious uncooked form? Think of the cool elegant crudo and cruda, crisp exotic salads, playful pastas, and rich, tender meats that we shall sink our teeth into. And whilst doing so, we will drink! We will wipe the dust off of the My Private Tokyo, inhale the burgundy scent of Barolo, sip tiny glasses of fine sake, and down chilly glasses of beer.

Worth the wait! Excellent ambiance and service. The menu had unique Italian-Japanese flavour fusions that was all delicious. The cocktails were great and beautifully presented as well. Can’t wait to come back and try the omakase experience!

It was our first time at Kissa Tanto and I have to say it lived up to expectations. The food was outstanding. Lots of variety, and the sharing approach was enjoyable as we got to try a bit of quite a few dishes. Service was impeccable. It is expensive, but worth it!

Food was ok flavor wise, the udon pasta was delicious. Everything else was ok. Service was 10/10 and the place was beautiful.

We enjoyed an absolutely unforgettable meal at Kissa Tanto!! Every item was unique and perfectly presented....and delicious!! We especially loved the descriptions given by the servers...colourful and enthusiastic! A triumph!

They seemed to have changed reservation systems. We tried to modify our reservation and it never worked. Now they want to charge us a $200 fee for not showing up.

Amazing meal and amazing service!! Our server was extremely sweet and accommodating. We were able to do the entire tasting menu gluten free! It was truly incredible and we will be back whenever we visit Vancouver. The ambiance is warm and cozy and the drinks are fantastic! The absolute best gin and tonic I’ve ever had. Our favorite dishes were the Japanese style omelette with crab (the best I’ve ever had) and the chocolate & raspberry dessert but everything was truly fantastic.

Food did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. However prices went up and portions shrinked. Our octopus salad is now tiny and our favourite fish costs from $75 to $90. We always go here for my daughter's birthday and she always got a dessert on the house. Not this time. We had to pay for it. We ended up with a bill close to $500 for a party of 3 (after tip) so the fact that they could not gift a birthday dessert this time sounds petty. I just wish that they would honour loyal clients.

Visited from out of town and the experience at Kissa Tanto was unmatched at any of the other restaurants I visited. I can’t recommend this place enough. The tartare was particularly tasty and the cocktails were excellently crafted. 100/10
