Probably one of the worst experience I've had for a 450 dollar Omakasi experience. Mixture of Uber drivers coming in flip flops walking through the restaurant yelling out Uber names killed what could have been a semi decent evening. Food was one dimensional carrying fusion type flavors with cuts of fish that were a little thicker than prefered... More is not always better. For anyone considering a nice sushi dinner save yourself the money... The the extra time and pick some place like sushi of gari that offers better food and experience for a fraction of the price. Perhaps among The other Japanese sushi spots along this strip will pass for CT, but won't stand a chance in The city. A general note to the restaurant, consider not allowing phones at the counter. As a patron I Rather not have my evening interrupted by tik tok videos and obnoxious sound effects. Keep Uber drivers at bay... Patrons need not hear the chef or waiter talk across the restaurant.

Omakase dishes were very hit or miss, lacked that wow factor in presentation and flavor Cocktails were uninspiring Cool ambiance & decor Worth giving it a shot but will not be returning

I wanted to love the okakase at Kissaki but the experience left much to be desired — especially at that price point. When we arrived we had to wait about five minutes before we were seated. Nobody was in the restaurant except for the chef behind the counter. We were finally seated and waited 45 minutes after we ordered until we were served. The chef was busy preparing takeout orders while also preparing the omakase. While the nigiri tasted great, there was just nothing overly unique about anything the chef served. Certainly better than your average sushi, but not on par with the best omakase experiences in the city — and not worthy of that price point.

If you are looking for just an overall lovely evening out with the best sushi I’ve had in the USA, and overall a great experience, go to Kissaki! We went for our anniversary and we’re amazed at the quality of food and the experience. Trust me, the only bad part of this place is that you will crave it and want to go back and do it all again!

If Michelin ever decides to add CT, this little sushi gem will surely be top of the list. The Omakase was creative, vibrant and fulfilling. When the chef plates you with a large piece of monkfish liver sitting on a bed of vegetable purée you know it’s going to be a spectacular dinner. Each course wowed the senses. Will be back as soon as possible.
