   Best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. Grits good. Salad good. Waffles fantastic. Chicken good. Mac and cheese fantastic. Caesar salad good. Caesar salad croutons fantastic. Drink okay.

   The food was amazing, however it was overshadowed by the extremely slow service, took nearly and hour to get our food. Bar service was equally slow.

   We started with 2 of their specialty cocktails the honeybee and blackberry margarita. Delicious, so much so we ordered 2 more! Then we got gumbo and Caesar salad. The gumbo had just the right spice and a crab leg. The server did forget about us and I had to get up and go to the bar for drink straws and have another server track her down as the gumbo was being shared by me and my husband. We simply needed another spoon and a bowl but no one could get that for us. By the time she did come back the gumbo was cold. That’s why the service rating is lower. Now back to the food. My husband got the jerk lamb chops, we says they were the best he has ever had! I got fried chicken, perfectly crispy (you hear the crunch) and juicy. Mashed potatoes average; my husband loved the sweet potatoes. Bill came to about $300 inclusive of 20% tip.

   I’m from Memphis, Tn and traveled to DC for Fashion Week. This was the first restaurant I tried and it was my favorite! I went twice. My first experience was at the bar with Jere. She was so nice and made the best drinks. I had a strawberry marg and a cotton candy cloud. I also tried many options from happy hour like the catfish strips, honey hot bites, dream eggs with blackened shrimp, and the dip. Then, I ordered the Kajun Kream Pasta. Every single item was cooked to perfection. No complaints! They even took us some memorable pictures that come with a frame. My second visit was brunch with Jermaine. He was amazing as well! Very patient with me because I had tried so many items already I couldn’t decide what else to try. I went with the surf & turf & it was really good. The lamb chops had a little spiciness to it which was different but good. Both experiences were amazing and shout out to the manager for also checking in with us and making sure that our experience was graceful both times. I came in with my YouTube camera & will be posting a full review soon. I will be back!
