   Celebrated my daughter’s 39th birthday. Everything was excellent, drinks are a bit expensive, but overall she had an awesome time.

   It’s a good restaurant. The location and decore is just right. The price is kinda crazy. Wind up spending $180 for 4 jerk lamb chops, catfish, Mac and cheese, greens,yams and white rice. The service was great the food was good but that price point is not worth the return. I could have gone to Gordon Ramsay for that price. All of the food was good but I can’t say excellent. The value seams off.

   The crab cakes and Jerk chicken soup were amazing. My friend that had the crab cake said it was the best he has ever eaten and he has eaten crab cakes from all over the world!! My fried chicken and waffles were also amazing, the crust on the chicken and the flavor of the waffles were the best. The drinks are also top tier and tastes fantastic!!

   I ordered the catfish and grits and the chicken breast and egg nog waffles. Chicken was fried to perfection. However, the waffles tasted like Jiffy mix. I sent them back. Exchanged for an other catfish and grits. I had never had catfish before. My date made me taste it and I absolutely loved it. I will be coming back.

   Do reservations matter? We were reserved for 2:15pm but had to wait until 3pm to be seated, and that was only after we kept asking “how much longer”. Meanwhile, the restaurant only has a 15 min grace period before they cancel on you…how is this fair? Food was ok—cornbread was dry; deviled eggs were sub-par; best part was my drink—I highly recommend the True Flame though it’s $30. While the music was AMAZING, if you go with friends and plan to have conversation, this is NOT the place!!! Music was way too loud—it’s more like a club vibe though we were there for lunch. Lastly, the food was super expensive and they include a 20% service fee in the bill which the server made clear he only gets half of, somewhat forcing you to feel like you need to give a tip as well. I was very disappointed with this place. I wanted to love it, but…well, if fell flat for me.
