   What was suppose to be a nice dinner with my boyfriend was far from that. We had a reservation at 9pm. We were not seated until 10:17pm. By the time we got to our table we were starving. Our waiter took our drink orders and then food orders then he did not come back to our table until 11:30pm. I saw him running around serving all the tables he had. He seem extremely bombard and busy. My boyfriend and I couldn't order another drink because the waiter never came back. The food and the music was good. The entrance and bar area was extremely packed with people also waiting to be seated. The only good part of the night was the food. However I will not be returning.

   If you’re looking for a hot spot that’s all about the ambiance, Komodo Miami is where it's at. This trendy haven draws crowds like moths to a flame. But be warned: their reception system is nothing short of chaotic, though I suspect it’s all part of a master plan to build anticipation. When you arrive, you're met by a swarm of hopefuls trying to get in. With a reservation (as we had), the staff hunts for your name in the system and then directs you to the bar area—where they promise to find you (eventually). The bar is another crowded mess. It took us an hour, $120 in drinks, and several trips back to the reception to finally get seated. They don’t actually search for you; instead, they parade around with a ticket and wait for someone to question them. We ended up on the terrace, which was a blessing, away from the indoor noise. The food was beautifully presented but just okay in flavor. Granted, as a Peruvian, my standards are pretty high. The service was passable, nothing remarkable. Despite noting my birthday in the reservation, there wasn't so much as a "happy birthday" greeting, let alone any special gesture. Overall, if you’re in your 30s and chasing the latest scene, Komodo is your spot. But if quality is what you're after, Osaka (just to throw a top of mind alternative) is miles ahead.

   I don’t recommend making dinner reservations. We made a 9:30pm reservation late Saturday hours before arriving. I was surprised there were tables available on the app. Once we arrived (on time), they took my name and they told us to wait around the crowd. That they would come to look for us or text me. They told us we could wait at the bar. After half hour waiting, I went to ask about our reservation and basically they told me the same thing. After a couple of drinks I realized we had waited 45 mins. I asked again and they said there were still 11 people ahead of us. Basically they are not reservations, its first come first serve. The hosts and personnel were very kind and patient, they deserve to work in a place with order and integrity. Restaurant should not take online reservations if they are completely full. We waited for about an hour and a half and ended up sitting around 11pm

   The restaurant is a scene I get it. The music was too loud for a reasonable conversation with somebody across the table. The steak was average I mean Longhorn level. Noisy like I said and with the serving size commensurate with this style of dining.

   Overall, the expectations of we had became low once we arrived. First, we waited a total of 30 minutes after our reservation time. Second, my friends birthday was to be celebrated that night, she did not stay for dinner. The food and drinks were good but better luck for next time.
