If the menu had some photographs of the dishes it would be excellent.

We had a reservation but had to wait 15 minutes for a table. The food portions are small for a very steep price. It was over $150 for 2 people after they took off the cost of the appetizer and desert off to make up for cooking a steak well done when medium-rare was requested. Everything took way too long and the food was all over cooked. They replaced the overcooked steak and the replacement was good, but the lobster tail was cooked to the point of being rubbery and the macadamia nut chicken was overcooked and didn’t seem to have anything resembling macadamia nuts. Overall way too expensive for overcooked tiny portions and the wait staff tried to make things right but was too overwhelmed to even ask about anything but the steak. Also they don’t have everything that is on the online menu, and as far as ambience, I had to wear a coat the whole time because of so much cold air every time some one entered or left.
The avocado egg rolls were ok but a disappointment compared to Cheesecake Factory. For steak just go to Longhorn or even Texas Roadkill(house) to get a reasonably priced steak (and better lobster at Longhorn) that’s just ad good. The only thing good about the one at Lona is the lobster butter steak topping but the filet itself was mediocre.
Mission accomplished though…. Now we remember why we never go there despite food that sounds good.

I made a reservation through the website for 9:45 pm, but I waited almost an hour to be seated because they overbooked reservations—it was Valentine’s Day. I was finally seated at 10:30 pm, ordered my food at 10:35 pm, and received it at 11:30 pm. Despite the long wait, they didn’t offer anything to make up for it. Food was good but not excellent, the chicken fried rice was not good. I feel bad for the servers and kitchen staff, as it shows that the management doesn't care about either the customers or the workers.

This was my fourth time coming to Kona grill. I left a review last year about my Valentines experience, and made another reservation this year giving them the benefit of the doubt. My reservation was at 7:30, and when I arrived I was told it would be a wait. We were not seated until 8:15. I don’t understand the point of making a reservation, if you still have to wait 45 minutes to be seated. They were also reservation only for Valentine’s day. If you’re reservation only why is it still a 45 minute wait? After waiting 45 minutes for our table, we didn’t receive our food until 9:15, when we arrived to the restaurant at 7:30. We were told that our order, along with 2 other tables got lost and somehow mixed up. Every time I have been to Kona Grill the servers were great. In this case, Rex was very attentive and apologetic for everything going on, even though it was out of his control. Unfortunately I don’t think I could come back again. If only the rest of the restaurant and its service could line up with the greatness of the servers.
