   Not as special as it used to be. Two instances of the wrong order coming back to the table. A guest’s plate was taken away to replace an incorrect side, while everyone had to wait to start eating. I updated our reservation on the morning of, but the updates were ignored and host/manager seemed agitated when I mentioned it. I recognize it’s not ideal but we had to change our chosen time to make the update, that’s open table’s app, not my choice. I guess I’ll call next time in addition to the app.

   First time here, feels like your in hawaii, server was awesome! Checked in multiple times to make sure we were good. Drinks were good, food was good. A must try!!

   To start, we ordered the corn bread appetizer. It was very tasty with the special butter provided. Although, the hot honey dip was more syrupy than natural honey is. Leading us to believe that it was more chemical than natural. I did order a Frozen Blue Hawaiian from the specials of the day cocktail menu. Let me just say, it was THE best cocktail I have tasted. So much so, I ordered one to go at the end of the meal. The Loco Moco is very good. It was just “very good” and not “great” because you could taste the grill in the beef patty. Also ordered was the bacon cheeseburger. Also very good. Again, you can taste the grill in the patty. To finish things off, we ordered the coconut caramel custard pie. It had its good flavors but was stopped short by its pie crust which was very dry and imposing. In other words, too much crust. All in all, a good experience.

   Kona is one of the best restaurants on the Monterey Peninsula. I’m a local I go there weekly with my husband on our date and we enjoy the ambience and the food is outstanding. I recommend Kona to anyone we ordered seafood it was one of the best seafood dishes in Monterey California. I definitely recommend Kona restaurant to anyone

   Always hitting the mark perfectly, our evening was delightful! Many thanks to the servers AND MANY THNKS for letting us overstay our welcome and closing the place down at 9pm because we were having such a great time! fabulous fabulous fabulous

   We had a delicious rib-eye steak and salmon dinner with an outstanding farm fresh butter leaf salad. Ginger lemonade and a fun shaved-ice dessert made the restaurant memorable. The people greeting us at the reservation desk and all of the servers were extraordinary.

    My friend and I had a fabulous dinner last evening. We were greeted by our server immediately and she gave us the information about the specials of the day. She was gracious, and was very prompt with returning with our wine. She then took our order and checked back with us after our food arrived to make sure all was as it should be. I ordered the tempura sea bass tacos which I think are over the top delicious, and my friend ordered the grilled sand dabs, which she also loved. When she placed the order for the sand dabs, the server was quick to indicated the the grilled sand dabs had a panco crust, and may not look grilled. We thought that was a very thoughtful mention, so my friend would not be surprised if she did not see grill lines on the fish. The food was really delicious, and the recommended wine was perfect with the entree. We two friends were able to have a lovely conversation during dinner, even as the restaurant began to fill, and the noise level was such that our conversation did not have to be yelled across the table. We were also seated at one of the generous sized booths, which are so comfortable and afforded us a view across the restaurant where we observed many happy diners. The owners of the restaurant are the most gracious individuals I have encountered. You get a very comfortable experience. I made reservations, and they seated us as soon as we entered the restaurant. I cannot say enough about the owners and the quality of the products they prepare. I have been going to restaurants owned by them for over 20 years and I have never had a bad meal, a mistaken entree, or a rude wait person in those years. They know what they are doing and they do it really well.
