KOYO was born from our sister restaurant NAMA, but is a completely different concept offering guests a truly exquisite menu. The term KOYO means to elevate. Our chef's curated an elevated menu utilizing the freshest ingredients and designed a menu in true Omakase style. Omakase means "chef's choice" so when dining with us you can select the 4-course chef featured menu or dine from our KORÉ NI SHI-MASU menu or "I'll choose this one". Elevated. Unique. Dining. We walked out. We arrived for our reservation early and requested to be seated outside. We were promptly seated at 6:40. At 7:00 we received water, put in for a drink, promptly got the drink and never saw wait staff again. We gave up at 7:15 after being at the restaurant for 35 minutes and still not being able to get an order in. Had to leave cash to cover the drink because no one was around even to tell that we were leaving. We were not the only ones having problems with service in the porch. We were promptly served a delicious meal nearby at Vida. Very disappointing. I travel to Knoxville once a year and Koyo has always been a highlight of that trip. I’m not one to leave a restaurant or write a review under most circumstances. Hopefully it’s a one-off thing.

While the atmosphere of this restaurant is lovely and intimate, the food on Valentine’s Day was disappointing, to say the least. Despite telling the waitress at the beginning of our meal that I’m pescatarian, I was continually served meat dishes, and instead of the lobster main course-an actual fish dish-I was served an unidentifiable savory cake. However, the chocolate dessert was nice and the host was friendly.

Great place for date night. Looking to try new food this is a great restaurant to do so. I highly recommend the duck chefs kiss words can’t explain how amazing it was.

Absolutely delicious food, fantastic service, small and intimate dining experience. This was our first time and we will definitely be back! Wonderful dinner experience!

The food was delicious and I am grateful that there were gluten-free and vegan options that were amazing. There is a lot of disorganization that took away from the overall experience.
