KUMOYA, is a Japanese Kitchen and Sushi Restaurant, the passion project of renowned sushi chef Corey Baker in collaboration with Max Mackissock, located in the heart of LoHi. We specialize in traditional sushi and innovative izakaya-style dishes with a modern Japanese twist. Our kappo-style dining concept allows guests to curate their own culinary adventure. Chefs Corey Baker and Max Mackissock draw inspiration from Kaiseki cuisine, celebrating the seasons and micro-seasons inherent in sushi and Japanese cooking, resulting in a dynamic, ever-evolving menu.

My girlfriend and I went for our 3 year anniversary and we absolutely loved our experience. We had some sushi rolls and sake. The servers were all attentive, kind, and helpful. The atmosphere was super romantic. Will definitely be coming back again

At our table of 4 guests we ordered 2 miso soups. Those were fine. In addition we ordered 3 more items on the menu including an overpriced $30 bowl of fried rice and only received 2 of those items. We were not charged for the missing food but I left hungry and forced to tip 20% automatically even though I didn’t get the food I ordered. Bad experience.

First time in. Service was good, great looking restaurant. Food was good at best but not great. Cocktails were good. Pricey.

Tonight was our second time dining here. The first time we sat at the bar and tonight, we dined in the room with the lanterns. The menu was different than it was last month, and they said it was changing again soon. We tried a bunch of different items each time we went and loved every single dish. My favorite tonight was the eggplant dish, but every dish was unique and delicious. I had 2 mocktails, and they were both extremely delicious and refreshing. We are looking forward to returning soon. Finally, I must mention the flawless service from all staff members. Each team member was knowledgeable and attentive. 10/10

Great Sushi & Sashimi. Had fish that I’ve never tasted. Service staff were knowledgeable about their menu but could be faster. Ambiance was excellent. Would go back more often if they have a parking solution or a valet service.

Our expectations were high and we got what we paid for. Prices are on the higher end but for a date night, worth it The service was fantastic and our guide helped us through the menu, drinks, and helped us enjoy everything about the experience

Service was a little slow to start in the dining room, but it picked up once we ordered our food. Food and drinks were great. The dry aged toro is MONEY. Bar staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning soon!

Excellent service and food! The Sando was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had, bread was buttery and delightful. The kumo soft shell crab roll was by far the best soft shelled crab I have ever eaten. 10/10 will be returning.

All of the food was perfect and the staff took the time to explain everything and ‘tell the story,’ which was a great addition for our first visit. The pickled wasabi is incredible, a must try. Wes, the GM, was as friendly, hospitable, and professional as any restaurant GM I’ve experienced in Denver.
