At Kumquat, every dish is inspired by authentic Asian cuisine, crafted by Chef Patron Alex Boyd.
With nearly 30 years of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants and prestigious hotels in London and Hong Kong, Alex has worked with renowned chefs like Joel Robuchon and Pierre Koffman.
He earned two AA rosettes as Executive Chef at the 4 AA Red Starred Hotel St Ermin’s and led the kitchens at Mansion House, cooking for dignitaries, royalty, and world leaders.
Inspired by the flavours of Asia, Alex combines classical dishes with modern techniques to create a dynamic menu.
We source only the finest ingredients, and our selection of handcrafted cocktails, wines, and beers complements the menu perfectly.

    This restaurant was recommended to me for a work leaving bash. Every bit of food that arrived was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to for a return visit with the family.

    We enjoyed our lunch. I would like to see different desserts. Some fresh fruits or other Asian desserts. I have a dairy allergy and don’t like sorbets. I’ve had the mango dessert before and didn’t like it.

    Beautiful experience, wonderful food. Staff and maître d' Virginia very engaging and very helpful especially when explaining the menu. Met the Chef Alex too. Looking forward to going back

    Absolutely beautiful food, I literally cannot fault anything we had. We both had different starters and mains and shared everything. Every mouthful was delicious. We sat downstairs which is a nice area but not ideal for an intimate meal as you can hear everyone very clearly. The service was great and the staff super friendly so I will definitely go back.

    Went at Sunday lunchtime. Initially we were the only people in the restaurant but that didn’t make a difference to our experience. The waitress was so knowledgeable and talked us through the whole menu, making recommendations. The food was amazing- fantastic quality and flavours. Cocktails and wine were also fabulous! Restaurant was quite full by the time we left and had a lovely, cosy atmosphere. Will definitely be going back!

    Very disappointing experience, as menu appeared very promising. Nowhere to hang our coats, had to put them on the back of our chairs, premises are more like a cafe than a restaurant, food uninspiring and expensive, got fed up being asked all the time, was the food OK ? Yes it was OK, but not at those prices.

    We enjoyed the food but it was an hour late. We were not offered anything to compensate for this delay. It was also our joint birthday celebration and the staff did not offer any mini cake, shot or complimentary drinks at all.

While we were busy, we understand the wait was frustrating and will work to improve this. We did wish you a happy birthday and noted you preferred to keep the occasion low-key. To make it special, our head chef created a vegan dessert just for you, which is not on our menu. We take pride in going the extra mile for our guests, and we're sorry if this wasn’t enough to make your celebration feel as festive as it should have been.
