   We were at Kyojin last year and had a spectacular experience. We were so excited to experience it with our friends last night. Our excitement quickly turned to disappointment as our server could not have been ruder. He immediately told us that we had a time limit on our table, which killed the mood and vibe. He was uninterested in sharing recommendations, instead seeking to slap food on the table as quickly as possible. The most expensive item we ordered was plated worse than a Denny’s. Our group could not wait to leave to be in a place which was excited to serve us.

   Was allotted an hour and a half to eat the day of the reservation. When we got there, our table was not ready (on time). We had to wait at the bar and then still had to be done within in that time frame. We were at our table for less than an hour before we were told we were going to have to move. Food was excellent, people were very nice

   Rarely rate things but this deserved a rating. The sushi was some of the worst I've had period and the service was hands down the worst. I know restaurants take a lot of work, time, and money so I hope this is used for self reflection.

   We loved everything about this Sushi restaurant with the exception of the music. The food is so innovative and delicious. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The volume is way too loud and not conducive to dining. I know its targeting the younger crowd, but honestly, can they hear each other talk? Change up the music and this restaurant is a 10!!

   We had a good time . Our server was great but other server where smashing dishes do so hard in the back bar area that I had to ask them to do it more Quietly . I’m talking like really throwing dishes down like they are angry . I would appreciate considering guest . They were not happy that I had to call on them like three times to notice and address the noise level . I did not appreciate the angry looks I got from them .

   I took my girlfriend here for dinner she loved it great ambience almost felt like I was in this restaurant I went to in France that was in a cave underground.

    I visited Kyojin Sushi on 11/23/2024, and while the experience had its ups and downs, the evening was made much better thanks to our server, Ben. He was attentive, and personable, and truly elevated the overall atmosphere. Kudos to him for making the evening enjoyable. The sushi itself was good, but not the standout quality I expected given the premium prices. While it wasn’t bad, it didn’t deliver the exceptional experience I was hoping for. That said, a few dishes and items did stand out during the meal. The salted caramel ice cream was a revelation. Served on a nest of honey, it delivered a divine flavor palette and was hands down the best ice cream I’ve had in a long time. It is worth visiting Kyojin Sushi just for this dessert alone. The cucumber salad, however, felt underwhelming. It was essentially just pickles on a plate, lacking any excitement or unique touch. The garlic edamame was flavorful but unexpectedly spicy, which Ben had mentioned it wouldn’t be as the other option was. It was also a bit messy to eat, which took away from the enjoyment. The Toro Tower was the highlight among the sushi options. Its flavor was outstanding and easily my favorite dish of the night. On the flip side, the lavender smoked salmon was disappointing. The flavors clashed so badly that it left me gagging. For the price, I would recommend steering clear of that particular dish. The "Winner" roll tasted nice but was challenging to eat neatly. Cutting it up turned into a bit of a mess. It was good but not ideal for presentation or practicality. Overall, Kyojin Sushi offered a pleasant dining experience to cap off my trip to DC, but it didn’t claim the top spot among sushi places I have tried. The service was fantastic, the dessert unforgettable, and a couple of dishes stood out, but for the price point, I expected a more consistent and exceptional meal. Would I return? I might consider but only if Ben was my server again and I could simply enjoy the ice cream
