We are vegan, and visiting Toronto from out-of-town... the idea of "let's do a Mexican vegan tasting menu when visiting Canada" seemed weird at first, but we absolutely loved the experience and would do it again in a heartbeat. The food is more particularly Oaxacan -- think mole, etc. If you're on the fence about doing Mexican vegan in an area where you wouldn't expect to do so, do it. You'll have a great meal. We particularly highly recommend the tasting menu.

My partner and I came here to celebrate my new job offer and mole is one of my absolute favorite dishes. Their mole did not disappoint. The consistency was perfect. The flavors were immaculate. The tamal and veggies were the perfect pairing for it. My partner never had mole before and she loved it. We shared the guacamole as an appetizer, which my partner said was the best she's ever had. We also shared the tacos, the chocolate cake, cocktails, and wine which were all super yummy. My partner and I were bummed to find out at the end of our dinner that the place will be closing soon. Try to get to La Bartola before then!

Overall great experience. We had the tasting menu. Portions are small, but everything was very tasty. Next time I would like to try ordering off of the ala carte menu.

The food was absolutely delicious. Every bite was enriched with flavor the service was awesome the accommodations was perfect and lite. This gave me a new look on Mexican culture and food. I loved it. The ambiance was amazing. Love it.

My husband and I had dinner at La Bartola on valentine's day. We loved every course and had a great time. They have such delicious cocktails too. The only negative, and it's a big one for me, was that I watched both bartenders sneakily collect the marigold garnishes off of finished cocktails, rinse them off in the sink, and set them aside to be reused again on their garnish organizer. I was seriously disturbed by this as I had one of said cocktails. Please do not reuse garnishes! If you don't have enough, maybe just go without. Yikes.
