   Far from a French menu and experience we are used to in the States or overseas. Overpriced fixed menue for Thanksgiving. Staff was excellent and cocktails very good. Value was overall poor. Doubtful we will return.

   While the cauliflower soup was as great as their onion soup is reputed to be, the main course dinner was not great. Turkey a was very salty, the gravy was thick and basically tasteless, the stuffing bore only a faint resemblance to the real thing. Mashed potatoes and green beans good. Caramel dessert unappetizing. The staff were harried but cheerful. Best thing about this holiday repast were the customers, who were cheerful, dressed great, and fun to talk with. But if this is, indeed, "Charlotte's best French restaurant," then we French food lovers and Charlotte are both in trouble!

   The setting is fantastic and the service was great, the food was just average. Especially for such a nice restaurant. The lamb was excellent, the turkey seemed like pre-sliced turkey and they included a huge drumstick which was all about the show on the plate. The meet was very tough on it and it was much too much to eat. Mashed potatoes were good. The bread dressing was terrible. It was pressed into a very firm form and sliced into a pie shaped piece. It just the texture was way too firm and it only tasted like chicken broth. You would think that being in the south, they would have had cornbread dressing. Having said all that, we will go back, and we were thankful that they were open on Thanksgiving.

   The food and service were exceptional (as always), but things have changed a bit since my last visit. The music selection was more appropriate for a beach or golf cafe. No tablecloth under the butcher paper, which seemed less sanitary. It felt like a less-refined, pricey casual experience.

   We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at La Belle Helene. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared: the turkey was so moist, the gravy was perfect, the potatoes and stuffing were great and the green beans had a nice little crunch to them. Our server was so friendly and professional and really made it such a nice occasion. I had never dined out on Thanksgiving and was worried about it but our experience here exceeded all expectations!

   We scored a fantastic outdoor seat from which to enjoy the Thanksgiving Eve Parade! Mussels, fromage, French onion soup, and a delicious beujolais made for a fun time!

   Food was excellent as was the service. The atmosphere was great - bright and modern yet felt like you could be in old Paris. Duck was prepared perfectly.
