Opened in 2006 by 8 time James Beard Award Nominee, Chef James Campbell Caruso.
La Boca has the feel of a lively European wine bar, featuring an extensive selection of carefully chosen Spanish wines and Sherries. Chef Caruso's Modern Spanish Cuisine is inspired by the exuberance of Spanish cooking combined with fresh, local ingredients. La Boca has been  called "the most influential restaurant in Santa Fe" by the Pasatiempo Magazine and the New York Times describes the menu as "modern re-inventions of classic Spanish cuisine" Knowledgeable and animated staff graciously guide guests to the perfect wine to complement their meals. La Boca also prides itself on being an ambassador of Spanish sherry culture, transporting its guests to Jerez in the crisp cool flavors of Fino, or the deep fig-essence of a Pedro Ximenez.

Join us every Thursday and Friday night for live music on the Taberna main stage!

Overall, the restaurant, food, and wine we did get was great. Some of the service and attention to detail was disappointing but not too bad.

This was our first time here and we had a great dining experience. Our server was attentive and was able to answer all our questions. We had Negroni and Cava with our tapas. We started with two selections, olives and shrimp. Then ordered the grilled artichokes and skirt steak. They were fantastic, we will be returning. Reservations recommended.

Our dinner at La Boca was fantastic! Loved the baked goat cheeses, pan con tomato with ham and the lamb meatballs. The special was mussels, Shrimp and chorizo in a wonderful broth. For desert we had the tart with the candied cherries and it was amazing. Our server was Chris and he was knowledgeable and friendly.

The staff are attentive and made us feel welcome. The space is small. For me, the tables were too close together. My partner bumped elbows with the table to her right. A larger gentleman behind her inadvertently bumped her chair simply as the space is very close. The drink menu is great for those who drink alcohol. I was disappointed with lack of mocktails considering all the other restaurants in Santa Fe that we visited had at least 2 options. The fennel salad and anchovy toast were good. The goat cheese was too salty for us. The tables are extremely small. One dish is delivered at a time, which is good for pacing but not good for combining bites. It is a loud restaurant and not conducive to quiet conversations.

A Santa Fe treasure. Tasty, fresh options. Right off the Plaza makes it a desirable spot.

Wonderful food. Too many good choices. The Cava was wonderful. Gracious staff. We nailed an early reservation which turned out to be the right thing to. The main area is relatively small and has close tables. Since we were early, there was plenty of space around and a more peaceful ambiance.

Great food and service. Little noisy but I’m old so hearing is not my strong suit.
