Opened in 2006 by 8 time James Beard Award Nominee, Chef James Campbell Caruso.
La Boca has the feel of a lively European wine bar, featuring an extensive selection of carefully chosen Spanish wines and Sherries. Chef Caruso's Modern Spanish Cuisine is inspired by the exuberance of Spanish cooking combined with fresh, local ingredients. La Boca has been  called "the most influential restaurant in Santa Fe" by the Pasatiempo Magazine and the New York Times describes the menu as "modern re-inventions of classic Spanish cuisine" Knowledgeable and animated staff graciously guide guests to the perfect wine to complement their meals. La Boca also prides itself on being an ambassador of Spanish sherry culture, transporting its guests to Jerez in the crisp cool flavors of Fino, or the deep fig-essence of a Pedro Ximenez.

Join us every Thursday and Friday night for live music on the Taberna main stage!

La Boca remains a favorite for a reason, even on busy nights like Valentine's Day. Their small plates are truly exceptional, offering a delightful array of flavors best enjoyed by ordering a variety and sharing. The service is consistently top-notch, with perfectly paced dishes and knowledgeable wine recommendations. For us, La Boca is the best in Santa Fe.

We drove to Santa Fe from Albuquerque to try La Boca for Valentine’s Day. As you can assume it was quite packed and the restaurant is not very large, but all of the servers and staff in the restaurant were very attentive and kind. We were talked through the Sherry Flight, and tried the 3 course tasting menu. First course was a soup or salad, so we ordered one of each. The main was a chorizo, goat cheese and chili sandwich, and dessert was a chocolate mousse. The spoon was a little larger for the mousse vessel but it was quite funny trying to figure out how to get everything out of the container. We even made acquaintances with the table next to us. Overall it was a nice time, I’d love to go back on a less busy day!

The ambiance was that of a small family restaurant. Tables were close together and you couldn’t avoid having conversations with your neighbors. It was noisy and fun. The food was a mixed bag. The highlight was the black mussels in coconut salsa verde. They were really delish. My husband used a spoon to eat up all of the wonderful green sauce. The disappointment was the classic paella. The only flavor we could taste was HOT. I have eaten paella in Spain, Portugal and in many restaurants in the U.S. and in other countries and it was never overly spicy. The best paellas have had complex flavors and it has always been a favorite dish to order. This paella was fair to mediocre. My advice is don’t bother. Dessert was very good. We had a cake with crème fraise and cherries. The sangria was also just mediocre. I have had ( and made) much better. So, if you order the right things, I suspect that you can get a terrific meal. Unfortunately, we didn’t order the right things.

Best meal of a 6day vaca skiing outside Durango, returning to ABQ for flight home on a strict (and somewhat tight schedule. Ordered 5 courses. All came sequentially and were very different. All were well prepared. Also paired great with the Ribero drl Duoro recommended by our server. Great vibe. Never felt rushed. Highly recommend.

The food here is so fine! The service was great and our server very attentive. It was my husband’s birthday, but we did not receive acknowledgment of this or any special consideration to n seating. Note that the two toppers at the restaurant are very close together. We were seats n the middle of the row, with a very loud speaking couple next to us. This a a great place to dine as long as it’s not for a special occasion r if you want any privacy.

Food was good. Service left alot to be desired. We asked the waitress to pace the tapas throughout dinner however two of the tapas arrived before our bottle of wine arrived. We sent the food back to the kitchen, had to ask for water twice, finally received the wine after asking again and the kitchen tried to redeliver the food again with our first sips. We sent it back a second time and finally had the food delivered about 10 minutes later, which of course by that time was lukewarm warm at best. I expect a finer restaurant to understand the timing of food and drinks to be much much better than this. Had to ask for a bowl for the mussel shells twice and had to flag down the waitress two more times to have water glasses refilled. I would like to think they were having an “off” night but I don’t know. Interesting menu and would recommend the restaurant based on the food alone, not the total experience.

We were not overwhelmed. Service was very slow and we waited very long for our drinks. Our sever incorrectly charged us for another table's check, did not know how to fix it and we ended up waiting 25 minutes for our correct check which resulted in our uber cancelling our ride. We had to pay a cancellation fee to Uber, and wait additional 15 minutes for another Uber. The managed apologized and offered us water. At least offer us a coffee after the inconvenience and extra expense! Baguette was good, mussels had a really nice broth. The eggplant was drowned in cheese and very greasy. The best part of the meal was the blood orange cake, absolutely delicious. With so many great options in Santa Fe, we will not be back to this restaurant.

Food and service fabulous as always. Disappointed that so many tables crammed into the small space. Very difficult to carry on a conversation with dinner partner. Tables were about 8 inches away from me on either side. Owners should consider finding a larger venue because they are so popular.
