Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

Came by this place through a friend's recommendation, and have been to the one in NYC before. This place did not disappoint! The space is gorgeous and feels big and open and airy. It's definitely instagrammable if you're into that kind of thing. The food was tasty and as expected for the price point. And the staff were attentive and just generally excellent. Cute spot for a date and also perfect for groups.

The ambiance is beautiful - feels very Parisian and really chic. The service was stellar. I had the mushroom and Gruyère omelette and it was perfect execution. The right balance, perfectly cooked and the potatoes were also just right. I had an almond croissant that was to die for. And I’m not a cheesecake lover but upon recommendation tried the basque cheesecake and it was the best I’ve had. Overall, the experience was top notch, I would highly recommend for anyone wanting delicious French food in a gorgeous setting with stellar service.

Absolutely amazing experience, felt like I was in the middle of Paris. Service was amazing, food was outstanding and the ambience could not be beat.

Food was so average not worth the money I spent. Would go back for drinks and apps but not a meal. Beautiful interior!

The most beautiful venue in DC deserves better food. Dishes were delivered to the table very quickly but tasted as if they had been pre-cooked and warmed under a heat lamp. The spaghetti bolognese had excessive sauce and the strange additional of feta cheese. The frites that came with our burger were soggy. The broth of our onion soup lacked flavor and richness and came with a thick layer of mostly uncooked Gruyère, which is delightful if brûléed but not so much in this case.

Service was terrible. Food was served. Cold cocktails were delayed server did not know anything about the specials.

Ambiance was great. Beautiful space. Unfortunately we were seated at a table that was not assigned to a server. The manager walked by multiple times and didn’t notice. We flagged her down after waiting 25 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. She sent Emily who was outstanding. The steak au poivre was good. The bread was amazing. The steak frites were inedible. Grisly and over cooked. Emily was king to send a free desert for the wait which was profiteroles- those were the best thing of the night.
