Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

Chris, our server was the kindest and most gentle server that we have ever had! The food was delicious, the profiteroles were to die for! Hope to go back soon!

                                                                                                                                      The setting and ambience was gorgeous for Christmas. The bar is stunning and the menu has a great selection. The actual serving experience was a bit underwhelming for the price point and the reputation of the NYC location. It took awhile to get our drinks and we had to refill our wine and water on our own - they just must have been busy! That’s ok - it’s the holidays!

                                                                                                                                      Just coming back from Paris, my husband and I decided we would organize his birthday dinner here as a loving nod to a wonderful experience abroad. The food was delicious and so very well presented. The wine was impeccable and cocktails were perfect. The ambiance, especially around the holidays, is unmatched. I will say it was surprisingly busy for a late evening dinner on a Tuesday and I think that made wait times for items longer than ideal. That being said, it was a top notch experience and we will be back!

The hostess initially put us at a table near the kitchen with a fully open restaurant. We were not clear why considering we had a reservation. Luckily we found our own table.

But on a Monday night, our party of 9 felt ignored and neglected. Good for different people came out at different times. Twice our server had to be reminded to bring out side dishes. Our cocktails arrived after our appetizers were finished. The food was mostly very good. One steak ordered medium was very rare and when it was sent back, it took a solid 20 minutes for that guest to receive her food again. She munched on bread while the rest of us ate our entrees. I would not go back during the holiday season.

However, the music was overwhelming so loud conversation was difficult. And, the entry way had one person working the desk who was also doing the coat check. Upon leaving there were 18 people at the bottom of the stairs or in the entrance - difficult to move.
