   Food and service was good. We were advised it was a busy night and informed of a slight delay, which as a party of 9 on a Saturday evening was not a problem.

   Arrived at the venue, told sharply where our seat was with no welcome. Service was poor, had to wait an hour for our food with no explanation until I asked the bar tender who was apologetic, an update about the situation regarding the food would have been nice. The food itself was nice, the 4 “regulars” squashed in next to us, yelling like the place was a sports bar wasn’t as nice. Far too loud for the setting, disrupted not only our table but another table close to us, with no staff intervention, instead they received more smiles and attention than any other table. In short, really nice food, ruined by a ‘clique attitude’ from staff and regulars. A shame for an independent venue, the Nando’s we had the day after delivered a more attentive service, which sealed this review for me.

   We has not been to La Plancha for a while but it was good to be back.. Outstanding.. Slight changes to the menu but still a fantastic choice. It was a night to remeber and we will be back soon..

   La Plancha 113 Alcester Rd, Birmingham B13 8DD Restaurant Tori Ryan 105 points a day agoDeeply disappointed. Went here again as it's one of our favourite restaurants but was very disappointed in the service provided by Alisha. The restaurant was freezing and we complained that the heater provided gave no heat, we asked for another and were provided a slightly better one temporarily as it was needed elsewhere in the restaurant. Ridiculous that there is not enough heaters to heat the whole building. After complaining again about the cold a heater was provided but when given to us Alisha tutted and rolled her eyes. Then we had to have the bill altered as they included food we hadn't had and instead of apologing Alisha slammed it down on the table. I went to the till to pay asking for Alisha's name which she refused to give because I was going to complain. She didn't even apologise at that point. Eventually she gave her name but at that point the night was ruined. Not sure she gave the correct name but it's the girl on the bar who is short, dark complexion and botox lips. Very rude individual. Management replied on Google review stating they would get in touch with us to apologise and arrange a return visit. No one has been in touch. Similar comments are left on all the negative reviews. I think this is so they look like they care and are dealing with the problems when they are not actually doing anything.

   A great evening at La Plancha. Service was great and the Christmas Gourmet menu was brilliant. I was in a big group and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. One member of our party has serious allergies and these were dealt with in a very thoughtful and caring manner. Outstanding!

    Food is great with a wide choice of starters and mains. Service was slow and we had to ask several times for both food and drinks.
