Busy Saturday night, not a table free, good bustle about the place. Service was friendly and swift but not rushed. The near 2kg of steaks we ordered as 4 blokes were juicy and almost perfectly done (mine maybe more medium rara than rare but no issue). Good wine selection and tasty beer. They even gave me a doggy bag for what I didn’t eat. Worth seeking out this one.

First time visiting La Plata on Saturday evening. We were a party of 5 people and we could not fault the service we received. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and we will most certainly return.

I usually enjoy my dinner at La Plata. Not this time. I ordered fillet however received chewy tail fillet. It was disappointing.

La Plata is all about the steaks for us. Best cuts of meat beautifully cooked. Sauces are good too (chimichurri especially). Good chips (french fries or chunky) well cooked. Puds good too. Always consistent. Lucky to have this as a local restaurant. Great to be able to walk home too. So pleased it survived covid era and still with us today.

It was a very disappointing experience. We like Argentinian restaurants and we are very familiar with its food and quality. This is not an Argentinian restaurant nor the quality of the ingredients nor the presentation nor the people who run it. - Frozen fries - Napolitana sauce from a jar (not even warmed it up) which left the beef milanesa dry and couldn’t eat. - Tira de ancho covered in a garlic sauce (not even asked us what sauce we wanted with it but came totally covered with pieces of garlic and leaves) not sauces options such chimichurri. - Chorizo Malbec was a cheap spicy chorizo supermarket style (not the chorizo sausage you will Find in proper restaurants ) in thick sauce, with two pieces of dry bread (nor crostini as they mentioned) For all of these I am certain this is an attempted to do Argentinian without the quality and the way it is supposed to be cooked. Also for all the above we paid over £100, incredible expensive.

Absolutely marvellous experience at La Plata, as usual. Steaks cooked perfectly to our request, staff welcoming and polite, and excellent value for money.
