The name Verace, meaning "authentic" in Italian, reflects the essence of the family who immigrated from Naples, Italy, to Texas. Now rooted in the Lone Star State, the name La Stella ("The Star") symbolizes their journey. The family's goal in opening La Stella was simply to share their generational passion for authentic, verace (quality-driven) Italian recipes, complemented by warm Southern Italian hospitality.

Wife and I waited more than 45 minutes for our order to be taken after being seated. Our order was only taken when we called out to the server to help us, after which it took about another 40 minutes for our food to be ready. This would have been fine if our order was taken sooner - I understand it takes time for food to be made - but it would have been avoided if our order was taken after 20-30 minutes of waiting instead of >45 minutes. Really hurts because we were celebrating our anniversary weekend and we don’t get to have fine dining too often.

Great experience… good and service was A+. Our server Alan Arroyo explained the menu from beginning and did a well at it. He made our Anniversary even better… thanks Alan and staff.

Very busy for Valentines Day! Service was very good, the food took a bit long (very busy) but was very good. I had the bolognese which was wonderful, my husband had the fish special, which he did enjoy, however for the price it was a very small portion. It was extremely loud, although the live music was great, it was hard to have conversation.

We had a delightful Valentine’s experience. The staff were really great - special thanks to Amanda and Richard for helping guide our choices for food and wine! The live music was lovely, and the food was excellent. I look forward to returning soon!

Exceptional food and service (our server, James was attentive and made marvelous suggestions). Lovely wine list. Elegant and inviting ambiance - and not too loud to have a conversation. We will be back!

Slow service. Tables next to us were also looking around trying to get some service. Most of the time my glass was empty. Would be nice to have a drink while we wait. Took 2 hours for the entree to finally arrive. Unfortunately we were no longer hungry. Asked for the check which took another hour. We spent 3 hours and $500 for 2 appetizers and 2 drinks and to pack our entree to go. Server acted surprised that when we asked for the check and asked if the food was bad. It’s not the food, it’s the service.
