About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighbourhood gem
  • Charming
LA STREGA TRATTORIA IS LOCATED IN BEAUTIFUL LAS VEGAS, NEVADA.

La Strega is Las Vegas’ premiere Italian eatery nestled in the affluent community of Summerlin where James Beard nominated Chef Partner, Gina Marinelli ignites an authentic Italian cultural rejuvenation by inspiring exploration of the traditions of flavorful, fresh and innovative Italian cuisine with her modern, farm-to-table regionally-based dishes.

Translating to “witch” in Italian, La Strega’s sophisticated yet playful atmosphere bewitchingly transports guests to Italy immediately upon arrival. Greens, clays, and earth tones make up its color palette, while full moon-shaped bulbs on brass chandeliers illuminate the space. The restaurant’s artistic centerpiece is a one‐of‐a‐kind mural that spans multiple walls throughout the restaurant, telling the story of the witches of Benevento which inspired the genesis of La Strega, a tale best told by the head Strega herself, Chef Gina Marinelli.

We invite you into our home!!!

I can't say enough about how much we love La Strega! This visit, we brought my father who was visiting us- he's Italian and very picky about his beloved Italian food. He said he doesn't like homemade pasta but he ordered it and he loved it. Not only that, but he loved everything from his drink, to the pizza, to the dessert. It is a little pricey, so we make this our "special occasion" place, but we all cleaned our plates because everything was so delicious. Lexi, our server, remembered us from our last visit and took such good care of us and is always so friendly and attentive. She's the best! Can't wait to come back!

Lisa is always a delight to have as a server. I was sad to see a manager not at the restaurant who was recently promoted last time I dined. He was so pleasant and helpful.

Really great dining experience. The only thing that I will comment on is that they didn’t have the bottle of wine that we had selected originally, so they gave us a glass of a Sauternes to try. It was a beautiful glass, and then when we asked for the bottle the bottle tasted much different than the glass. We brought it up and the waitress was adamant that it was the same regardless of our tasting it and not her. As someone that drinks a lot of Sauternes, I felt like my taste wasnt heard. Either way all the food was phenomenal, looking forward to coming back and trying different things.

Hostess refused to sit us when we arrived 30 min before our reservation time. But there were plenty of tables available. No place to sit and wait. Stood in front of the bar and they insisted we wait until our reservation time. We left after 20 min. No apologies nothing

Service: excellent Food: very good. We tried Lobster Spaghetti and special Red fish. The Red fish dish, I thought it was excellent but The Lobster Spaghetti did not meet my expectation Of someone scored it 1000/10. But overall, I am glad that I went there. Attention: watch out for taxi costs!

Great find in Las Vegas. Love the area and parking. Food was good but a little on the salty side. Favorite appetizer was the scallop. The seafood stew was not good with only clams and mussels and broth was super salty. Bread was only ok.

Food and service was excellent. Prices are pretty high, but a nice option if you're looking to splurge a little.

FAQs

Yes, La Strega is a popular date-night spot. Guests praise the thoughtful, seasonal Italian menu, handcrafted cocktails, and warm service for special occasions. The dining room is stylish and intimate (there’s also a darker, quieter room ideal for dates), though it can get lively and noisy on busy nights. For a quieter experience, opt for an early or later seating and note the restaurant’s casual‑elegant vibe and business‑casual dress code.

Portions are typical of an upscale, seasonal Italian kitchen: generally moderate and designed for tasting and sharing. Many guests enjoy starters, pizzas, and housemade pastas to share, while some note that portions can feel small for the price on certain dishes. If you’re hungry, consider adding an antipasto, a pizza, or a side, the $45 Before 5 menu and family‑style options make good value choices.

La Strega is best-known for its handmade pastas and creative Italian dishes, guests frequently rave about the pastas (Stracci, Cacio e Pepe, Lemon Ricotta Raviolini), wagyu carpaccio, grilled artichokes, and special pizzas like the Spicy Pig. Chef Gina’s seasonal tasting menus and specials (braised beef cheeks, scallops, seafood preparations) also earn repeated praise.

La Strega’s listed hours are Daily 5:00 pm–9:00 pm. Guests also reference special events and occasional brunches or holiday hours (Mother’s Day brunch, special events), so for holiday or special-event hours it’s best to call ahead or check current listings when booking.

Family‑friendly: yes, many guests bring kids and celebrate birthdays and family dinners here; staff are often accommodating. Accessible seating: the reviews and owner information don’t explicitly note ADA accessibility details, so call ahead to confirm accessible seating and accommodations before your visit.

For a calmer experience, choose an early weeknight or a later seating, guests note weekdays and after‑8:30pm can be quieter. If you want a lively atmosphere, weekend evenings (Friday/Saturday) are bustling and energetic but can be loud. Reservations are recommended for popular nights and special occasions.

La Strega has at least two distinct dining areas, a bright, lively main room with the bar and kitchen, and a darker, quieter room for more intimate dining, and it accommodates private parties. Guests also describe cozy booths and a warm, thoughtfully designed interior with a large mural as a centerpiece.

The listed dress code is business casual. Guests tend to dress smartly for date nights and celebrations, think neat, polished attire rather than athletic wear or beach clothes.

Yes, the staff often accommodates special requests (birthdays, seating preferences, party details, dietary needs). Many guests report personalized service for celebrations and chef‑interactions. For important requests (private rooms, accessibility, dietary restrictions), call the restaurant when booking to confirm they can accommodate your needs.

Overall yes, families with kids and teens dine here and guests report enjoyable family celebrations. The menu is adult‑focused (no dedicated kids menu is commonly mentioned), so consider bringing favorites for picky eaters or ask staff about child portions. Early seatings or a private area can make dining with young children easier.

Busiest: Friday and Saturday evenings and peak holiday nights, expect a lively, sometimes loud dining room. Quietest: weekday nights and later seatings (many guests report things calm down after ~8:30–9pm). For a quieter meal, aim for weeknights or earlier dinner reservations.

Weeknights (Tuesday–Thursday) are often the best balance of full service and a calmer atmosphere. If you prefer energy and buzz, Friday or Saturday evenings deliver a lively crowd; for a more relaxed visit, choose an earlier weekday dinner.

Yes, La Strega accepts private parties and large groups, and guests report sectioned/private events and special celebrations. For private‑dining options, capacity, and menu customization, contact the restaurant directly to discuss availability and booking details.

Guests report holiday service for events like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter and Valentine’s, but the standard published hours are Daily 5:00 pm–9:00 pm. Because holiday hours and special brunches may vary, call ahead or check the restaurant’s website for specific holiday schedules.
