From tacos and tortas to cochinita and sweet potatoes, La Una Cantina puts a modern spin on traditional Mexican dishes. We offer a wide variety of dishes, including many vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options!

Our dishes have a large influence from the state of Oaxaca, known for it’s traditional Mexican cuisine. We value the importance of traditionality, and represent that in our dishes.

Service was GREAT! Cocktails were fantastic! Food was good! I have enjoyed trying out different restaurants in Bloomington with our HikerBabes VIPs this year!!

Regarding service: Getting seated at 8:00 PM on a Friday was essentially instant, though after being seated it took about half an hour before a waiter came to ask us for our order. The food was magnificent, and in such abundant quantities that for three people, a single order of their nachos would have been plenty. The ambience was not too loud as to prevent conversation, though at times loud enough to stop it. The decor is chic, and the golden skeleton on a motorcycle honestly increased my overall satisfaction. All in all, 7/10 restaurant for diners under 21, despite mainly being a bar.

Made a reservation a few weeks in advance since Michigan was coming to town to play IU in football. Huge game, knew restaurants would be packed after. After reading some reviews, was nervous that maybe our reservation wouldn't be honored.. We had ZERO issues. Walked in for our 745p reservation and were seated right away. I did hear the host telling other walk-ins that there was simply no availability for hours.. We had our waitress Diane greet us right away and suggested appetizers. Ended up trying the Queso Fundido - It was served piping hot and was absolutely delicious! We also got Guacamole - which was slightly underwhelming and seemed to have used some under-ripe avocados- there were full chunks of it in the quac that were basically un-mashable - It was still fine and wasn't worth sending back. Fajitas were GREAT - slightly disappointed they were served sizzling, but still hot and they had a mixture of red, orange, yellow peppers, onions etc... nearly perfect! Service with a smile, sat down and served quickly, and food was good. Would definitely come back.

My daughter and I got a selection of tacos that were all delicious. Al Pastor, chicken, carnitas, and shrimp. Margies are good too.

Server was great until she wasn’t! Tamales were excellent as she recommended them. Salsa trio was very good, rice bowls very good (huge, you can share) and enchiladas really good. Margaritas are below average. Chicken quesadilla came out without chicken, server disappeared, manager reordered the correct one for us and it took over 30 min for it to come. A quesadilla? Takes 2 min to cook! Side of rice didn’t come, when the quesadilla finally arrived, the cheese was not melted. This is a huge space, great for groups but they need to improve service, our server never even apologized for all the errors. Not sure we will return.

Really can’t tell you much about this restaurant, due to the fact that they refused to honor our reservation. Could not tell us when they might be able to seat us. In Bloomington from out of town and were relying on a reservation for parents weekend. Forced to go elsewhere and wait for availability. Disappointed, unhappy and surprised at the lack of professionalism. Beware!

Reservation was not tracked by restaurant. Still had to wait over 30 minutes.

Was charged extra for sour cream that never arrived, then the server said he was not able to remove it from my check because of a computer issue so I had to pay for it anyway.

We did not dine here! We stood at the host stand for 15 minutes and was not even approached by a staff member! Completely ignored by all staff! There was a group a head of us that left since they were standing there longer with the same issue. We left
