   Wow ! What a surprise. Push past the small, intimate front dining room into a fabulous , hopping dinner party. Multiple large groups all in celebration mode while being well served and provided wonderful food, all whip having corks pulled from their own bottles. It all makes for a raucous, amazing night out.    They had a prix fixe menu for Valentine’s Day. Caesar salad was overdressed but still good. Croutons were notable. I had vitello al limone for my main and when I tell you it was bad… Pounded paper thin and somehow still tough and chewy. Atop the veal “medallions” (I do not think that word means what you think it means) were two rubbery and overcooked shrimp alongside a small nest of spaghetti. To the credit of the establishment, a server did offer to replace my entree but I declined. Desserts (cannoli cake and orange blossom cheesecake) were tasty.

   Went with my son after the SB Parade which was Valentine's Day. I should have realized it was a pre-fix menu which I am not a fan. However, the black linguini with scallops and shrimp was tasty and my son enjoyed the striped bass. I would definitely try it again when there is no pre-fix menu.

    We enjoyed our recent dining experience at La Viola Ouest. We had not been here for a while, and are happy that we returned. It is an attractive restaurant, the staff is welcoming and the service is outstanding. The menu offers many interesting dishes. Our appetizers were excellent and the main course was good. A big plus is that the restaurant is a BYOB, which makes for a very affordable quality meal. Another plus is that La Viola Ouest now accepts credit cards. We look forward to returning!
