The cuisine at l’abeille à côté is a playful interpretation of the elegant, Michelin-starred French-Japanese fare by chef Mitsunobu Nagae at l’abeille. The new prix fixe is a chef-driven journey highlighting a selection of techniques and flavors on display at l’abeille in an abbreviated, three-course experience.

In addition to the extensive award-winning wine-list from l’abeille, l’abeille à côté offers a curated list of 10 sparkling, 10 white, and 10 red wines, bringing together a worldwide selection of adventurous and classic wines. Guests are welcome to bring bottles not currently offered on our wine list (both l’abeille and l’abeille à côté) to enjoy with our menu for a corkage fee of $100 per 750ml bottle. We respectfully ask that each party bring no more than one bottle of their own selection at a time.

As of 02/22/2025…the prix fixe option is no longer available, replaced with a seasonal, a la carte menu. Still worth it in my opinion, mainly because of the following menu items ~ • Yaki Imo Sweet Potato | Such a sleeper dish and SO. MUCH. UMAMI. This justified the entire experience. Whatever you do, order this with the steak, or just as an appetizer. We ordered this twice. My partner and I still dream about it. • Yakitori Skewers | hard to argue if the presentation was better than the taste of this dish. Definitely order. • Ginger Pear Sorbet | Sounds simple but this was perfect as a dessert, especially if you like to finish with a palate cleanser.

What a disappointment …20 seats jammed into a small space, our table was literally a foot from the entrance. The food(lobster & shirt ribs) were delivered at room temperature! The servers were nice, but unorganized-almost chaotic! We asked the server to put the leftovers in a bag(for our dog)…never got them. Someone called us 20 minutes after we left and said did we want to come and get the “doggy bag”… I would give the restaurant a 3 out of 10… nothing like the parent restaurant next door.

We went on Xmas eve. The experience felt extremely rushed. We would have multiple servers come over to ask us if we wanted a drink, if we were ready to order, if we were done, etc. The moment we ordered our food started coming out (even though it was obvious we were enjoying a cocktail). The second we finished our app, our meal came out - no room to even take a breather. The food was stellar as always. But the service left something to be desired - especially with the hefty price tag.

Lovely setting and super attentive staff. However, the food lacked umami, and there was no dish that we said we’d come back for…except for the sorbet that the waiter brought on behalf of the chef…certainly a generous and noteworthy gesture.
