This was an all-around lovely experience. We were able to linger at the restaurant on a weekday, and thoroughly enjoyed full tea with sandwiches, scones, and sweets. Excellent tea selection and wonderful scones and accompaniments. Service is attentive. Favorite sandwich was chicken salad, favorite desserts were crème brûlée and macarons. I believe many of the pastries are purchased (vs made from scratch) but narrowed the favorite selections after a previous visit.

The service was not as good as it usually is, but I believe the server may have been new. She was very flustered. The kids’ menu is expensive for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Parking was a little bit of a pain and expensive. Space is super cute but small where the waitresses had a hard time serving our table. We had to do a lot of handing over and passing down. But all in all the food was good, plentiful and really pretty. Table setting was cute too. Server was very nice and the price is good compared to iotber high tea venues. I would recommend.

Not much ambiance. Overpriced. Didn’t care for menu selection. Tea wasn’t strong enough. Overpriced.

Wonderful experience - best Tea we have ever been to - and we go to many each year for birthdays - ambience, food, service - top notch!! Excited to go back!!

Lovely tea experience. Decor, food, service excellent. Served on Royal Albert china so beautiful servings! Leftovers were packaged beautifully to enjoy at home that evening. Had had tea in their old location in Georgetown & this was my first in their new location. Most DC tea venues serve only Thurs-Sunday. Thank goodness for LC on a Tuesday afternoon! 😊

Not your grandmother’s tea. Lady Camellia is a lovely location on the waterfront of Old Town Alexandria. The space is compact with a wall of windows and high ceilings that give the impression of spaciousness. The decor is simple, elegant and flattering with ballet slipper pink walls and pale blue chairs with modern light fixtures. Unlike many afternoon tea locations, LC allows the individual diner to choose from a standard selection of sandwiches, pastries, and desserts. The option of choice is appreciated but does tend to slow service. Our 3:30pm seating followed 2 private events which then Required a complete reset of the space and slowed service. Within 20 minutes the entire space was refilled and with minimal sound dampening it was quite energetic in feel and noise. Definitely not a sedate location! There is a large tea menu and each diner is able to choose their own tea which is provided in a beautiful pot with an individual tea strainer. The food selections lack the finesse I would expect for the price. Sandwich crust not completely removed and cut too large. Sandwich fillings were simple although flavorful. The white chocolate scone was delicious, best item I had. The chocolate croissant felt like it came from Costco. The small individual desserts were served in plastic containers and lacked finesse or decoration. With an 11% tax and automatic 18% gratuity my total was $92 (included 1 mimosa).

Such an underrated spot for afternoon tea! It’s beautiful on the inside and overlooks the river. Great desserts and service as well!

Wonderful as always! Great service, tasty treats, beautiful setting. This time I came with my kids and we had lovely time. Highly recommend!
