Located in the heart of Union Township, NJ, Lagar Restaurant has always been a staple in the community, serving traditional Portuguese cuisine and Mediterranean flavors.

    Everything was amazing, the service, the food was delicious and the restaurant is fun and well decorated. My only suggestion is that the live music start a little later. The musician was very good, but the music was too loud, our reservation was at 6:15pm

    It was our first time dining at Lagar, and we were celebrating a birthday. We had a great time, food was amazing and the service was great. Everyone had a lovely time and we will be going back again for the next birthday celebration!

    My family and I enjoyed the appetizers and my husband and stepson enjoyed their main course, which were lobster ravioli and pork medallions. The taste of my main course was very good. The only hiccup was the shrimp that was severely overcooked. Other than that, we had a great time at the restaurant. The service and ambiance was good. Wish we could've heard the live music, maybe next time it will start on time.

    The food and service was great, but the music very loud. Felt like we were in a nightclub at 6:30! We were also very surprised that they add 20% gratuity to the bill for a party of 3. I get it for large parties, but for 3 people tipping should be discretionary. Fortunately our waiter was great, and we would have tipped 20% anyway.

    We had reservations for 7:00. We waited until 7:25 and no one said a word to us. We left

    My martini tasted like a Sprite. I asked them to take it back and make it properly which they did. The menu said during Happy Hour all "classic cocktails" were $5. However, when I tried to order from the list they showed of "classic cocktails", I was told that they only considered one cocktail their classic cocktail which was a tequila sunrise. All others were $13. My cod fillet was full of bones, including the spine. Little effort was made to debone it. I also think they should have used pitted olives to make the dish, instead of olives that still had the pits in them which made it difficult to eat the dish without using your hands. My husband had to ask the waitress four times for another diet Coke. Also had to ask for water three times after they took his water glass and walked away with it. Otherwise, the food was tasty and the staff seemed to be pleasant. Very nice covered patio with live music.

    Food a bit blend. paella didnt hve enough flavor. Good sangria and salad. Steak was average

    Great Service especially Delina. Food was slow to come out. Drinks were amazing. Definitely worth a visit.
