Lake Effect is inspired by a collective love for great cuisine, culture, fine wine, and cocktails in a cozy, casual setting in the Northwoods of Minnesota. We want people to come in and have the joy of relaxing with family and friends while deciding on the perfect pairing of food and drink.
Whether that relaxation comes in the form of watching the Sunday football game on our bar TV's, or enjoying a quiet dinner with a bottle of reserve wine will depend on the individual, but we would like to cater to both of these interests.
Our goal is to have something for everyone, adventurous palate and classic tastes alike.

    Very good experience. Our first time there and we will be back. Very good food and reasonable prices. Very friendly staff .

    I have eaten here more than a handful of times and have yet to order something that wasn’t delicious. Brunch is fantastic and so is the dinner menu. I love that the menu is always changing! Atmosphere is cozy and family friendly!

    Incredible service. Very timely and considerate of anything we might need. The food was delicious. So good in fact I could barely wait for it to cool down to eat. The prices were very reasonable. A great experience overall!

    The only criticism that we have is our reservation was at 5:30 PM. When we were done eating the table next to us was being offered different menu options. The weight staff was very attentive, very good and explain things on the menu since it was our first time there.

    Pad Thai was great except for a random chunk of some kind of spice that was very potent and intense. Pesto pizza was good but missing the balsamic glaze on top.

    Lake Effect is a breath of fresh air in the world of endless pub food here in Duluth. Yes, there’s burgers and cheese curds (very yummy ones!) on the menu but there’s something for everyone on their menu and everything is elevated with a tasty twist. There’s pride and real skill involved here! Also, the service is really great,..very upbeat and attentive. I was there one evening with some gal pals, we were gabbing endlessly but didn’t want to keep the staff so we made motions to leave until the guys said; “Stay as long as you like! We’re not going anywhere.” So, we stayed and ended up ordering more beverages and dessert! If you don’t want a burger, the daily fish is EXCELLENT. I’d recommend Lake Effect to anyone.

    This was our second time at Lake Effect and we really enjoyed ourselves. The physical space is really charming and relaxing—it would be a great venue to rent for a private party! The food is good quality. I would, however, like to see more vegetarian options. Lastly, the tap beer selection is fantastic. Thanks, Lake Effect.
