We had a wonderful night at Lakehouse and were so well looked after. The food was excellent and great value. The menu is full of delicious dishes so we found it difficult to choose but were really happy with what we ordered and vow to go back to try the rest! The chicken with mini dumplings was particularly good, as many people have said, as was the pancake and cheese bites. The grilled mixed vegetables were great too and all the sauces that went with everything were superb. We really couldn’t fault it. Thank you, we will be back.

We had a wonderful evening with great food and amazing service The cherry on top of the cake was the homemade palinka. We will definitely come again

Very cute looking restaurant, however there’s no Hungarian beer, or a selection of beers at that matter. The food was quite expensive for what we got and not the best, although it could have been, it just simply wasn’t made very well. The service was quite strange and not as welcoming and warm as we expected. We did go in quite excited to try this new restaurant in the area and we really wanted it to be great, but the experience was very underwhelming. I think the food could be made better, the selection of drinks needs to be better and should include Hungarian beers/wines, it should also be slightly cheaper as the prices are quite steep. The service could be a bit more enthusiastic and showcase Hungarian food and drinks in a better way.

Really lovely meal and evening! Great ambiance and staff really helpful!!Will definitely be going again to sample the homemade food! Recommend the home made doughnuts for dessert! A real experience and we were made to feel most welcome. Nice that dishes were explained to us as new to Hungarian food!! Well done!

An enjoyable lunch, with a wide range of cuisine. Pleasant surroundings food was lovely. Just an idea my friend who is 80 years old found the seating a bit hard! A jug of water on the table would also be a good idea! Reasonably priced too

Food was really good. It felt a little under staffed, but food still arived in good time. Highly recommended for the food.

Great authentic Hungarian food. Four of us trying different options, from fish, skewer mix to pork that almost melts in your mouth. The goulash was well made too (that's kind of a must). It is a small restaurant, presumably just family run but the whole experience was a delight. Seeing the main man beam up when we said how enjoyable the food was shows that they really do care that diners enjoy their meal. If I had one minor gripe, it would be to ensure the lighting system remains ambient throughout the evening, though this may have been brightened occasionally for someone to see their bill. Very minor though and hats off to Lakehouse; we will return.

Lakehouse Restaurant is a little treasure in South Woodford. Excellent customer service, delicious food, cosy, fireplace, lovely decorations.If you are in the area just pop in and have a superb lunch or dinner,, who doesn't know Hungarian Goulash👌😋
