   So I wanted Little Italy and there were a bunch of 4.7 stars, including Lala, in Open Table. Picked it because I liked the name. It was an exquisite meal with wok colleagues and now I’m in charge of picking all our venues in the future. Everything was fantastic and it also has a very cool bat and overall vibe. Will definitely come back whenever I’m in San Diego

   Date night with my wife. We shared Beef Carpaccio & a seafood risotto. Plenty of food. The risotto was outstanding, with excellent jumbo shrimp, plus calamari & clams, all perfectly done. We had never eaten risotto with a tomato base, but it was great, with just a light amount of heat. We were on an enclosed patio, which was quite cold in spite of heaters. Service was very friendly, but not always present, and the main course came 45 minutes after we ordered, even though the place was nearly empty when we arrived at 7:00 on a Tuesday. Glasses of wine are $$$, with some costing as much as you would pay for a bottle at the store.

   Really was hoping for some amazing food, but sadly it was nothing special. The temperature on the food was all ov3r the place with each plate. My husband had the lasagna, he said it was okay but each pinwheel was a different temperature. The Aranchini was also alright, but each piece was inconsistent with temperature again (some bites cold, some warm). We wanted to try the sicilian peppers, but they sadly were out of them. I had the bone marrow Cavalli, was good but I feel the bone marrow was over cooked. Staff was great and super attentive. Great staff, okay food.

   It was very cute place and the food was good. I did not like how we were told they we would be charged a cake cutting fee but when I called prior to make the reservations I was told there was no cutting fee.

   Had a drunk table sitting next to me screaming at each other and not one person told them to calm down. the waiters instead were exchanging social medias with the girls while the drunk guys were in the bathroom. I couldn’t even hear my date talk and valet is also horrible.Made me circle twice to make line when i was already in front of everyone. Still tipped the bald Latino man and didn’t even say thank you. I love the vibe in little Italy but this wasn’t it.

   Had a reservation, table wasn’t available so a table was set up right next to bar and entry and offered to us. We elected to stay sat at bar. Disappointed but the bartender, his service and food were excellent!

    It was ok but not great. Server more interested in talking to the hostess and at no point did I feel like a customer. Never introduced himself and never offered parmesan for our meals. Food was ok but not memorable. With all the choices in Little Italy Lala could do better.
