Atmosphere was incredible, staff were kind, knowledgeable, and prompt... all around great tea experience/environment. Definitely the perfect place for a girls date! The washrooms and clothing, near the back, are must sees!

Very interesting design and décor but truly awful afternoon tea. Tea cups have no bases so they tip over and spill your tea everywhere. Tea items were either filled with strong smelling fish or old and dry. Most items were secured to the tray with what appeared to be clear food glue, leaving a trail of slime-like ooze whenever you picked an item up. We paid close to $160 for two people and ate hardly any of what was served. Just absolutely awful.

Food was great, tea was great. They seemed to be very understaffed so the service wasn’t as great as I’d expect for the price point. But overall would recommend

This is a very interesting place with unique decor. I was excited to go here to celebrate my birthday. We made a reservation and got dressed up for the high tea experience. They need a hostess. We arrived on time but were completely ignored. The female who finally seated and served us was very slow, in every sense of the word. They had no wine list on the menu but I could clearly see they had bottles of champagne on display. The first server I asked about getting a glass of wine refused and said those bottles were "just for display". I insisted with another server that since they put wine in the mimosa, which was on the menu, that surly they could just put some sparkling wine in a glass for me. She agreed and we ordered our tea at the same time but she never asked my dining companions if they wanted any wine or cocktails. I have no idea if she completely forgot about us or what ,but we did not receive any drinks until 40 mins after we arrived. After about half an hour of sitting there with nothing I got up and found some water on the bar which I served to my table and also asked a male server why we had not received anything at all. He could tell we were annoyed and tried to improve the situation but the female server was completely oblivious to the fact that this is unacceptable. The food arrived about an hour after we arrived. The food looked pretty. The soup was tasty but not hot. The male server gave me a tiramisu to take home which was the most delicious of everything I tasted. It was nice of him and redeemed this place in my eyes. He apologized profusely and explained they were short staffed that day. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and go back again but not for high tea, I would just order some tea and the delicious tiramisu. It is worth going in just to check out the ambiance.

I loved everything about our visit but my favorite part was how lovely our waiter was. He made us feel so special. I would gladly recommend Laurence and Chiyo to my friends and would absolutely come again. The onigiri balls were so delicious also:)

An unfortunate combination of high tea nibbles and poor, very inattentive service make for an unremarkable afternoon. L&C's saving grace is its unique and flamboyant ambience and decor, but even that can be overly garish at times.
