Dear Layer Cake Guest,

First and foremost, we want to thank you for choosing to join us for your dining experience. Unfortunately, our last day of service will be Monday, February 12th and we will not be able to accommodate your reservation today or beyond.

As we close the chapter into our first foray into the incredible Nashville hospitality scene, we look forward to hosing you at one of our other venues - Harper's Steakhouse and The Finch (opening in March of 2024)!

Layer Cake is a multi-faceted, choose-your-own adventure experience with four floors of dining and revelry created by hospitality experts, Milkshake Concepts. Located on 3rd Avenue in downtown Music City, the historical building has been restored to have varied experiences on each floor and fun for everyone that only gets better by the layer.

Came here for a dinner reservation and were not acknowledged for 30 minutes. A bartender finally came over and took our drink orders but the upsetting part was that there were servers on their phones and not doing anything the entire time as they passed by our table. Service is the last thing one can expect here.

Sat at a 4 person table, both tables rocked the whole time. Eggrolls are good. Chicken wing a bit too healthy, but an 8/10. Took about 45 minutes to receive our dinner order. Our server did let us know the kitchen was behind, way after the fact, but okay. Had to ask for a refill 3 times. The food finally came, I received a Cesar Salad, instead of the Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon. Took an additional 20 minutes to receive the correct order. This was our 1st time here, so my daughter accepted the fact that her chicken sandwich was a bit hard and extra dark, she just peeled the non-edible parts away. My salmon was a bit dry looking, I accepted that. We try not to make anyone job hard. When the table next to us, received a few dishes that we ordered, theirs looked nothing like ours, so much better. Which means, our food was over cooked and dry. I did receive an complimentary dessert, for my order being wrong. I chose Layer Cake for my birthday dinner for 3, highly recommended. Can Honestly say I won't be back for dinner, I'll try Brunch if I return. Main dishes 0/10. Appetizers 9/10.

The place is beautiful with many places to take pics but the food is just ok.

No ambiance - bright and punishing lights, music barely audible or not on at all. Watermark stains on glasses. Food was disgusting and lacked flavour. We couldn’t wait to leave

The waitress was friendly and attentive. We went on a Tuesday evening so it was slow and quiet. The French dip was almost too salty to eat. The fries were just that …. Fries. The small cake we got to share was average. Nothing special to speak of. The free cupcakes my niece and nephew got for their birthday tasted better than the cake. Would not go back. There are way better restaurants in Nashville!

Great service! Our waitress was excellent and made great suggestions. Checked on us regularly. Decor is very fun! The breakfast was okay.

The restaurant is beautiful and eye catching. The food was plain. My chicken sandwhich that is breaded in "pickle chips" had no flavor and barely any buffalo aoli. The waiter was not bubbly like the rest and made no eye contact. We ordered a sampler plate of their sweets and asked for it half way through our meal like we were told to do by our waiter and our plates were cleared from our table and we sat and waited for atleast 20mins after finishing so almost 40mins for it. Mind you the sampler items are pre-made so why it took so long I am not sure, as our waiter had 1 other table we watched him wait on. Also a 20% gratuity was put on our checks (there was 6 of us) and it clearly stated when I made the reservation that a 20% gratuity is put on the check for parties of 10+. Only go for the aesthetic.
