Since 1931 and revived in 2024, Restaurant Ile de France combines old-world French culinary traditions with contemporary Montreal influences in the heart of Downtown.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Chef Liam Hopkins

From the OpenTable editors: The stunning Art Deco architecture is reason enough to visit this landmark restaurant in Centre Eaton de Montréal, which first opened in 1931. Evenings flow from the elegant cocktail bar to the fine dining restaurant, where diners can indulge in classic fare such as prime beef tenderloin or gnocchi Parisienne while admiring the space’s well-preserved historic features.

Un dimanche soir agréable, avec service impeccable, une carte équilibrée avec des plats délicieux. Et, le plus important, et rare dans cette industrie malmenée de la restauration, aucun irritant.

An affordable excellent brunch. Food presentation not overly flowery yet very appealing. Their coffee was strong, tasty yet not bitter. Main dishes were imaginative, tasty and a right size; not too much, nor too little. Seating very confortable. Desserts just a right portion and smooth not too rich, nor too sweet, just enough. The service was outstanding. Renovations kept the spirit of the place. Brought back many childhood outing memories with my mom. Looking forward to going back.

A fun place to visit at least once to enjoy the beautiful Art Deco space. The service was great and the food was decent. However, in terms of value, the prices are expensive for what you get. The items listed on the menu are essentially 'a la carte.' The traditional French-style omelette was $19 and my monte cristo was $27 for a relatively small portion, simple preparation, presentation, and no sides (not even a basic salad).
