   Eaten at Le Central a number of times and away had an awesome time, today , not so good. The food was,as always very good, all four of us really enjoyed our dishes. I noticed an ABC license change, and was told a member of staff had purchased the business. The disappointment today was the service. Not one smile, small talk or polite comment. Our server, told us there were no specials, yet we heard another server tell the table behind us of two. I questioned the other server to confirm and he told me of the specials. A while later our server came over and said there were specials, with no apology or anything. He seemed friendly with other tables, but not ours. I don’t want to think it was because of my wife’s authenticity, but it did feel a little strange. I will return again, but will unfortunately ensure he is not our server

   Le Central is a San Francisco classic. I’ve been going for 30 years and the food remains delicious and the service helpful and attentive. For the first time I had the roasted chicken, at our waiter’s recommendation. Outstanding. Accompanied by delicious string fried potatoes and delicious Brussels sprouts. A hit!

   Le Central never lets me down. A special place off Union Square and at the entrance to Chinatown. I dine here several times a year and it never lets me down. Drinks, food, and service are always amazing.

   always a lovely place! service is wonderful and the food is very good. Not an extensive menu, but they do the specialities very well. festive for the holidays

    This is the first time my wife and I visited Le Cantral. I found out about this place from an article in the SF Chronicle a few weeks ago, it sounded like just the place we like for French cuisine. Overall the restaurant had a wonderful ambience. The manu perhaps could be a little more extensive but perhaps they change the menu every so often. My wife had the escargot and their signature cassoulet."Most excellent" I had the onion soup which was outstanding and the bouef bourguignon which is my favourite french dish so I have high stanbndards where this is concerned. The beef was very tender and lean which is what I wanted but there wasn't enough sauce so it was a bit dry. Nevertheless overall we had a fantastic experience celebrating my wife's birthday, we would definitely go back.

    David, Thank you for the kind review, we are so glad you enjoyed everything. The menu doesn't change that frequently, but with the cost of goods the way they are right now, having a big menu is terribly hard, with a big menu comes waste, and with waste comes higher prices to offset the cost, we prefer to stay reasonably priced and waste less. As for the sauce in the Bourguignon, I have addressed this issue with the kitchen, and they are adding more sauce. thank you for the feed back, it is important in correcting any issues.
