Avoid at all costs. The food was bad... but wasn’t the worst part. The manager takes pictures of all the leftovers. To trap unhappy customers. This is a 'bad food trap'. On first regard this restaurant seems like a nice discovery. But it was an awful disappointment and ends up in an a terrible argument with the unreasonable manager. The facade and wine selected set a promising evening ahead. The mixed platter to start was fine. The steak tartar was very poor, lacking any flavour or authenticity. The boeuf bourguignon was quite dreadful, meat was extremely tough with a nasty after taste, the sauce insipid. We could not get through our main courses, it was a hardship. I told the waitress we weren’t impressed. I wish I had not bothered complaining, the manager was obviously primed for this and attacked very quickly with forceful aggression. Laurent abruptly showed me pictures on his phone of our uneaten leftovers! What sort of person does this? He had these pictures at the ready, to prove we ate some of the food. This is a disgusting sight and a warpred, volting tactic! He must get many complaints to refine this strategy over the years. Shame he hasn’t spent his time refining the food. The chef was knocking out substandard dishes, he wouldn’t listen, just thought we wanted free food. No one turns dinner away on the first bite, no-one wants to destroy and evening out. Not to worry his chap was here to make sure we left feeling utterly miserable within ourselves. As part of his attack, he even threatened to the call the police. Beyond belief. Basic French home cooked food would have been nice, this was sadly made with no care, no skill, no idea. But what was worst? Being bullied and despised for complaining. As you can see, within the other complaints here, the owner bites back with no care. Expect him to show the same arrogance and lack of respect to this post.
Most of all, expect the same lack of care in this cold, dead, damp basement trap.

At lunchtime this is a welcome quiet spot, for a very good meal ( mains about £19 to 24). Pleasant surroundings and a warm reception, for a get together with friends.

This is a wonderful place and feels quite special. At a basement in Sandra London not many people know this little jam. Food as expected French bistro style.

My husband and I went to this restaurant last night and enjoyed our experience immensely. The food was fabulous and extremely good value for the central London location (down a little back street in Marylebone that you wouldn't know was there!). I had the cheese fondue (one of my favorites!), and my husband had the duck confit, which he declared was one of the best duck confits he's had. There was also an excellent choice of wines. We chose a fairly expensive bottle of red, but it was worth it as it was delicious and complemented the food perfectly. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly, and the place had a nice cozy ambiance and felt very authentically French. We will definitely be returning in the near future!

Good wholesome French bistrot menu. Good selection of wines but corkage is steep.

This was our second visit: the first was in a party of six, for which the accommodation was bright and cheerful. We were so impressed that we returned as a couple a week later. This second visit was in an annexe lit only by candles, which left us in difficulty seeing the menu or each other. The temperature was chilly, too. The food is very good although the egg-based main courses are bland. The service was excellent. The music is mercifully at a very low level, though the annexe because noisy from the chatter of other couples as the evening wore on. We might go again in the summer when there is natural lighting and natural warmth.

Nice location and venue but poor quality food! In our experience, the kitchen lacked true French culinary know-how and not really French cooking..
